Fireflies were everywhere as two children went out into the night. A glass jar in hand, the boy trapped the glowing bug, telling his sister about his success.

'Got one!' The girl turned to her brother and looked down at her jar before walking towards him, watching him screw the lid on tightly.

'What are you doing, dumbass? You're supposed to put holes in the lid. Otherwise you'll kill them.' She told the boy as he stared at the little firefly.

He looked at his sister in disappointment before speaking, 'Do I have to let him go?'

'Do you want him to die?'

The boy let his new firefly go, before separating from his sister to catch others.

As he neared a branch, he noticed that the fireflies seemed to disappear causing him to look up and squint into the distance.

There above a rock was Vernon Boyd, teeth bared and eyes glowing, growling at the young boy.

When the boy screamed in fear he began to run from the monster that stood before him. 'Billy?!'

The girl shouted to her brother, as he grabbed her hand telling her to run, and they did.

Coming up to a shed in the middle of the forest, the children hid from the werewolf that chased them. 'He's gonna get in, He's gonna get inside.' the boy panicked to his sister.

'Shut up, shut up.' She whispered back, making him go silent, as they heard the growling outside.

Footsteps circled the shed as they tried to steady their breathing, but it wasn't enough.

Eventually hands peaked through the bottom of the wall, lifting up the exterior of the shed revealing the werewolf that glared at them.

Throwing the shed to the side, the werewolf looked down the see that the girl had dropped her fireflies, causing the to escape due to having no lid. The fireflies flew around Boyd as he tried to swat them away. When he did, he looked back up to see that the children had gone.

Halfway across the woods was Derek Hale, as he held his phone up to his ear. 'You lost them?'

'Yeah I kind of had to.' Scott McCall replied through the phone.

'Wasn't exactly the plan.'

'I know, which is why I think that we should stick together. Trust me he's too strong, too fast, and way too angry for one person to handle. We've got to do this together.'
