Episode 8: A Time Long Past

Summary:

Reina tells a story about her time in middle school, involving a certain teen and his birthday.

    The Camper had been parked outside what used to be a place for sightseeing which was a ruined temple as a storm was passing through. The winds had been harsh, and the rain poured down as it flooded most of the roads and rivers making it impossible for it to travel, at least for an entire day.

    For the time being the group were staying inside the camper, just doing what they could to pass the time. Bethany, William, Koichi and Kazuho had been playing a game of Uno along with Valentine as he had his leg wrapped in a cast and had been resting on a set of pillows.

    From the looks of it, Valentine had been winning the game.

    Kazuho threw down a card in the middle of the pile, "DRAW FOUR CARDS VAL!"

    "Nope!" Valentine said as he threw down a reverse card, "YOU draw four cards."

At this Kazuho's jaw dropped as she couldn't help but shout, "GAH! DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT! HOW DID  I LOSE?!"

"Don't hate the player, hon." Valentine said, "Hate the game."

"He's right Pop-Step." Kochi said "He beat ya there."

"If we were playing for bets, you know you'll be my first keeps." Valentine said in a flirty tone, before he blew a kiss towards Koichi, making him turn red.

"Seriously, how can you have this much energy after a broken leg?" William asked.

"Eh--" Valentine said as he shrugged, "--It's how I am baby." He soon put his hands behind his head and he sunk in the pillows behind him, "And you better believe this train ain't stopping." 

Kazuho shouted at him, "CAN YOU NOT BE HORNY FOR FIVE MINUTES?!"

"Let me think--" Valentine said as he pretended to think, "--No~!"

Kazuho only pouted as she let out a growl.

"You know this is actually pretty fun!" Bethany said, before turning over to the across from them, "Reina, Dabi? You sure you don't want to get in on this?"

Reina and Dabi were both sitting at the table, with King laid at Reina's feet as they were playing a game of Shogi. Reina gave a smile as she said stammering in her words a little, "N-No that's alright. I'm not the biggest fan of Uno anyway."

"Really?" William said, surprised, "I used to see you play this with that funny old samurai that would come by the clinic. For a five year old, you were pretty competitive."

"Yeah well..." Reina said as she turned her attention back to the board, "... Things tend to change."

Reina soon looked to the bored as she had been thinking of a strategy, until she thought of a strategy. "HA!" Reina cheered, "Take that!"

Dabi only chuckled, "Sorry Firefly--" He said before he jumped over several pieces, cornering her king, "--But you just played right into my hands."

Reina let out a groan as she fell back into her seat, while Dabi smiled in victory. "Okay, fine!" She said, "You win round seven!"

"Nouki-chan, I didn't know you played Shogi." Koichi said, "Do you even know how?"

"I'm still learning the ropes." Reina said, "Dabi-kun's been showing me how to play, on the side."
