"What," he whispers, as the smoke comes out from his nostrils.
"Are you serious?" You approach him.
"About smoking or about Tiffany?" He laughed, then took a swig. "Either way... it shouldn't concern you...."
"Y-You can't do this anymore..... you can't act like I'm a savior have us break up and then go off the rails again it's not fair....," you admit, crossing your arms.
"No... it's not fair, and it's also not your concern... good on you that you don't have to deal with my addicted ass again, eh?" His eyebrows raise and you just stare at him, as he continues to take another swig.
"That's not what it was like.... I wanted to help you, but I really do love you, Jack...," he waved his hands around and it stopped you from speaking.
"No... none, none, none, I want none of that. I don't want to hear it. If you're done with me I'm done with you, we don't have to be friendly or act like we care for each other, we can just be done. I don't want to be a burden on anyone anymore...."
"You're not a burden, Jack. It doesn't matter if you don't care about me anymore I'll always care for you--."
"Then why won't you take me back, hm?" He shrugged, still holding the cigarette, and licked his lips. "Why care for me, if you won't take me back? I- I- I- just don't understand you anymore...."
"You can still be friends and care for one another, Jack..."
"I don't want to be your fucking friend! I don't want to fucking go back to square one and watch as you--....... As you fall in love with some other dude..... some other guy clearly better for you than me.... I want to tell you to go be fucking happy, but I can't because you're fucking killing me here, Y/N, you're fucking killing me......," he takes a swig from the cigarette again, leaning against a tree.
"Jack I--."
"You were the only thing right about my life.... and I kept fucking it up... you were never the issue, I felt that I wasn't good enough, I felt like it wasn't right, I wanted you to date someone better...... But I don't want to watch you move on.... I don't want to be trapped...... I'd rather die....," he mumbled looking up at the sky and blowing the smoke up.
"Don't say that...... don't you think that there might be someone out there that could be better for you than me?"
He looks back down and looks into your eyes, "Do you think of that of me? Do you think there's someone else out there better for me than you?"
"I think everyone has more than one soulmate.... Jack..... I think you have multiple people in a lifetime that can give you happiness...," you whisper.
He drops the cigarette to the dirt, walking up to you slowly, and takes your head into his hands smashing his lips against yours. He kisses you slowly as if he's savoring the moment then pulls away.
"I think you only have one love of your life...... I thought mine was you...," he whispered then walked past you and back towards the entrance of the forest and to the group.
The taste of tobacco lingered on your lips, you didn't frankly like the taste, but you couldn't deny that the kiss was good. You turned around and walked back to the campfire as everyone was packing up.
"Want me to drive you home, Y/N?" Zach questioned, throwing his backpack over his shoulder.
"Yeah, sure.... Kate--," you start.
"It's okay....," he nodded.
You sat in the passenger seat of the Jeep while Kate sat in the back behind Zach, to your observation she still hadn't talked to him yet.
"So....," Zach began as he drove the car out from forest and back onto the main road.
"So?" You laughed, looking out the window.
"What's going on between you and Jack?" He whispered his eyes glued to the road.
"There's nothing really to say....," you shrugged.
"Are you guys getting back together?" He looked quickly over to you and you stared at the road now.
"Not this time......," you mumbled.
"You gonna be okay?" He asked looking over at you.
You nodded still a bit confused about the situation yourself.
"I don't think we were good for each other....," your voice cracked and it tightened making you shut your mouth.
There was silence for a few minutes throughout the car as if everyone was thinking.
"I think.... I think you guys were complete opposites.....," he exclaimed. "That's what made you guys work so well..... he needed you because he had issues and you needed him because you also had issues...... you guys work in a weird, not normal way....," he shrugged.
"Yeah..... I guess so.....," you shrugged.
Once the car was parked in front of the Academy everyone failed out and Zach spelled it so it was a toy car that he could pop in his pocket.
"Night...," Zach mumbled walking into the stairwell.
You and Kate took the elevator, your assumption was he didn't want to be near Kate at the moment.
When you got to your room you were exhausted, heartbroken, sad, although all of those things had been your doing.
"I think I'm going to go talk to Zach now, wish me luck?" Kate exclaimed.
"Goodluck, sister," you smiled and she left, closing the dorm door softly behind her.
When you finished getting ready for bed and had finally gotten into bed, you couldn't help but stare at the circle window. The infamous circle window that had been a way of travel for Jack all of last year. You wondered what would happen if he climbed through it at that very moment.
To your surprise, you saw a hand appear on the window ledge along with a lion tattoo. It pushed the window open, and in came Jack.
"Jack?" You sat up in bed confused.
"Y/N, I'm not letting you break up with me....," he exclaimed walking over to the bed and sitting on one side.
"But I told you we need time apart....," you mumbled.
"And I said, no, not until I fuck your tight ass puss--."
"Y/N!!!" Kate shook you awake and you looked over to the circle window, which was locked shut.
A stupid dream.
"He... he... he....," you looked over at Kate who's mascara was running down her face in two streams down to meet the tip of her chin.
"Why are you crying?" You questioned, sitting next to her and hugging her from the side.
"He said no......," she wined, crying even more.
"Who said no? and to what?" You rubbed her shoulder.
She took one shaky breath, "Z-Zach said he doesn't want to get back with meeeee.....," she cried harder.
You comforted her thinking it was the best for both of them, but couldn't help your eyes looking back over to the circle window wondering what would happen if Jack really did come through it right now. You knew you wanted him to. You also know he wasn't going to.
