You screamed, quickly retreating further under the bed so the strange men could not reach you. From there you slipped out the side and took off running out the open door. Behind you, you could hear them talking.

"Well this is fun,' one of them said before pursuing you.

Each of their footsteps echoed in your ears, making your heart race faster and faster. They were getting closer you could tell, but you were never certain on where they were exactly. Sometimes it felt like their fingers were grazing you and others they seemed to be several feet behind. It drove you mad not knowing, the anticipation of your capture.

You had no idea where Alucard was, everything looked unfamiliar as you zipped by it. In a panic, you started calling out his name, unable to think of anything else.

"Alucard! Alucard! Help me please!" You screamed.

Having him come to your rescue was not high on your list of priorities, but you feared what would happen if he didn't step in. He was the only person around who could save you, even if he's a vampire.

Suddenly, you slammed into what felt like a solid wall, sending you falling backward. You'd hit your head and stars were dancing in front of your eyes. As you grabbed the side of your head in pain, a voice spoke.

"You're not an idiot, I know you understood what I meant when I said stay in the damn room!" Alucard chided.

"Please, there are strange men here. I'm scared," You cried, grabbing onto his leg.

You hadn't meant to, but you were still dizzy and couldn't stand all the way up. Like a limp noodle, you fell against, clinging to his leg so childishly.

"What are you-" He began, but the two men who'd been chasing you approached, cutting him off.

"There you are. I was starting to wonder if you moved or something," The darker-skinned of the two said.

"Did you get our letter?" The blond asked.

"Does it look like I did?" Alucard hissed.

"Well, you certainly did prepare a cute little treat for us," The first man said, appearing beside you.

He threaded one hand through your hair, feeling its texture as he ran it down the length. Out of nowhere, Alucard smacked his hand away.

"This is not an offering for the likes of you. Tell me why you're here Jan," Alucard demanded.

"But why else would you keep them around? Don't tell me, have you found a little human to play with?" The first man, Jan, asked completely ignoring him.

"Not in the slightest."

"You know, if you promise them things humans become very giving," Jan said with a sultry smile.

The blond man pushed him aside and stood in front of Alucard with an annoyed look on his face.

"I and the others decided a meeting was long overdue. They should be arriving soon, I'm sorry this is now on such short notice."

"What do we need to have a meeting about?"

"Just a quick little information session. Integra has some news regarding the new artificial vampires and I think everyone would like to hear about that."

I didn't recognize the name, but I did understand the artificial vampire part. It sounded terrifying, what made them artificial and why would anyone do that? How would you even "make" a vampire?

"Hmm, alright. How long do you plan on staying?" Alucard groaned.

"Depends on how the meeting goes. If we all decide that this needs to be discussed further or that we need to plan then we'll have to stay," The blond answered.
