(sorry for the pixilation, i did this on Pixil art.)
Sora jumped, her eyes widened as she slipped on the smooth surface of the stones, falling into the water. The cold seeped into her fur as she scrambled around, kicking up stones and splashing water, all in an effort of standing up. Finally she hauled herself onto the shore, panting.
"Wh- . . . Who is . . . Who is there? . . . " She called between gasps. Her wet fur clung uncomfortably to her sides, showing her thin body.
"You look almost to young to leave your nest . . . oh. That is because you are less than a year old, correct?" Sora whirled around, trying to find where the voice was coming from. A figure stepped out of the bushes. A pale purple head came through, followed by darker ears, paws, and tail. Sora felt fear knot in her stomach. This Kiranai was bigger than her, and looked much stronger. If he attacks, I might not be able to escape. Sora felt her muscles tense. The stranger blinked his cold magenta eyes. No, he may be friendly, I should always think before I act.
"I am no threat to you, as long as you stay away from me." He says, stepping closer. Sora crouches down to the ground, staying as low as possible, trying to hide. She feels her fur melt into the background, slowly becoming hidden. The other Kiranai walks past her without even a glance in her direction. Well . . . That was strange . . . Wait! I just met another Kiranai! And he didn't kill me! Sora smiled to herself, her mother was wrong! If this one didn't attack her, maybe others wont! She stood up, turning to watch him leave. Once he left she let out a sigh. Even though it wasn't as bad as mother made it seem, she still didn't want any enemies. Oh, I still have to find Mother. Feeling more confident, she walked down the shore of the pond. The lapping water relaxed her, calming her nerves. She leaned down and touched her nose to the water, clear and still, causing barely a ripple on the surface. Opening her mouth, she lapped up the cold water. She raised her head, breathing in the crisp mourning air. The sent of something filled her nose. Mother! That was her Mother's smell! She nosed her way through the tall reeds, following the the sent. Leaves tickled her fur as she weaved between the plants, the scent getting stronger with every step. It's a good thing Kiranai have a strong sense of smell, or I may not have found- Sora stopped dead in her tracks. the rest of her was still in the bushes, but her eyes were on the body in front of her.
"Mother . . ." She breathed. Lying right in front of paws, Mother's lifeless body sprawled before her. Mother . . . Sora felt tears gather in her eyes, as she looked down her mothers body. She had a large slit in her throat, spilling blood in pools around her feet. Mothers glazed eyes were open, showing the fear that she had once felt, but now no more. Sora felt tears slip from her eyes sink down her wet fur. She nuzzled her mothers fur, and cried.
