Just an ordinary girl

I woke up around 11 am, which was a little early for me on my days that I am off work. I mostly slept through our the whole day.

I do my morning routine and go out of my room to find something to eat. I walk into the kitchen and rumble through the fridge to find some ingredients to prepare a quick meal.

I decided to make chicken fried rice since that was all I could think of. I woke Mila up after preparing the meal.

" Wow Cat, this is good" Mila praises my hard work.

I smile and thank her.

We both jump when we heard the door bell, obviously because we hardly invite people over.

" Are you expecting anyone?" I ask Mila to which she shakes her head no.

" I'll go and check" Mila says as she gets up from the table.

I heard Mila scream making me rush to do the door only to let out a scream too.

" OMG GRACE OMG OMG", I whisper to myself .

Grace O'Brien was here in Seattle, it felt like a dream.

Grace used to be in nursing school with Mila and me, but she decided to change her major because she felt like nursing was not really her thing.

We had not seen her for almost two years because she moved to New York, we hear from her time to time.

Seeing her here doesn't feel real.

" What are you doing here?", Mila asks still in shock,

" Are you guy not going to let me in?" Grace asks with a smile,

" Oh, right come in" I say opening the door a little wider.

" Wow this is a nice place, I like the interior design" Grace says as she looks around the apartment.

" Grace what the hell are you doing here" Mila ask

" I moved to Seattle so I decided to surprise you guys" Grace says,

" You moved to Seattle?"
" When?"

Mila and I blurted out at the same time making Grace laugh.

" Okay, can you guys sit down and relax?" Grace suggests.

We take a seat on the sofa across her and face her ready to listen to what she had to say.

" I got a job here, so I decided to accept it and move here" Grace began to tell us,

" What job?" I ask,

" PA of the CEO of Armani & Co" She says proudly.

" Wow, Grace that's big" Mila says,

Everyone knew about Armani & Co, it was the biggest tech company in America.

After the former CEO killed himself, his son, I believe, took over and made it bigger than it was before.

" Congratulations Grace" I say with a smile,

" Thanks guys and I'm sorry for just showing up. I just wanted to surprise you" Grace apologizes.

" Girl, you sure did surprise us" Mila says making all of us laugh.

" So where will you be staying? Did you find an apartment yet?" I ask,
