What is dream?

Science says, dream is a succession of images,ideas, emotions and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in mind during the stages of sleep. 

Why do we dream?

Till now, science is unable to fully understand the purpose of dreams. The Hebrews believed that dreams were the voices of God. Christians too, shared a similar believes as the Hebrews. They believed that Gods can speak to a person through their dreams. In Hinduism, the Vedas described dreams as one of the three stages that the soul experiences during its lifetime, the other two states being the walking state and the sleep state. In Buddhism, the ideas for the purpose of dreams were similar to the classical and folk traditions in South Asia. The Chinese people believed that our dreams are the messages from our dead ancestors.

Why are meanings of our dreams?

Oneirology, the scientific study of dreams. Oenologist have tried several attempts to deduct the meanings of our dreams, however there is no proper answer as to what our dream mean. The deductions aren't complete and, in most cases, can only explain a small part of the dream.

This leaves several questions unanswered. The most common being.

Can we predict the future through our dreams?

Are our dreams alternate realities?

Do our dreams come true?

Science does agree that there is a possibility that our dream may be, may be a glimpse to the alternate reality. An another realm. As to whether the they can come true or not cannot be answered with absolute confirmation.

Dream is a part of life which defies science in many ways. A world of possibilities. Anything can possible. Anything can be achieved. 

Dream is such tease. Makes us chase after it. So close to us, yet just out of our reach.
