Best Friends With Benefits

"You ready for 8th grade?!" I screamed at Prodigy, waking him up, and making him fall off his bed. I started dying at him because his face was priceless. I took a run for it to my room before he decided to try to tackle me, like he did last week. I locked my door, and soon after there was banging on it.

"Sabreia if you don't open this damn door!!" Prodigy screamed at me. I couldn't help but giggle.

I ignored his screaming, and started to pick out an outfit to wear for my first day. I took out a pair of black skinny jeans, with my blue crop top, and a pair of Nike's. I looked at my hair in the mirror, and put it up in a high bun. I noticed there was no more banging on my door, so the coast was clear. It was 6:15, so I still had time to eat, and watch TV before leaving.

I opened my door slowly, making sure Prodigy wasn't there. I smiled, and was about to go downstairs, until I was tackled on the floor from behind.

"You fucking shit!" I screamed at him, trying to pull him away.

All he did was laugh and helped me up from the floor.

"You knew I was gonna get you." He paused. "You look...great today Sabreia." He said hesitantly.

"Thanks." I said smiling.

He blushed a bit, and went downstairs.

Something I didn't tell you guys is I have a small crush on Prodigy. I mean how can you not. His smile. His personality. His talents. How can I not like him?

And he chose me to be his best friend. When he could've chose one of those stupid cheerleaders.

Which is something I need to remember. We're best friends. Nothing more. He probably doesn't even like me. It was just a compliment. Nothing more.

I went downstairs, fixing my clothes and hair a bit, and went to the kitchen. There was Wanda fixing up some scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage. Prodigy was already eating like the fat ass he was.

"You guys ready for school?" Wanda asked while pouring the eggs into the pan.

"Yeah." Prodigy and I said in unison. She finished cooking the rest of the eggs, and put them on a plate for me, with the sausage to the side, and a cup of orange juice.

"Thanks." I said to her. I heard a clank on my plate, and I saw Prodigy took a sausage from my plate.

"Are. You. Serious." I said. All he did was smile. I tried to contain my blushing, and kept on eating what was on my plate. After that, I went upstairs, grabbed my backpack, and then went to the living room, to watch TV.

"Alright guys I'll see you guys later. Don't be late for school, and have fun." Wanda said as she left out then door.

I looked at the clock to see it was only 6:30. We had 10 minutes to leave the house, and start walking. Prodigy came in the living room, and sat down next to me. I noticed my heart started to race, and my ears were getting hot. I was begging for 10 minutes to pass quickly.

We were walking to the school when I saw Sylinche running towards me.

"Sabreia!! I missed you!" She exclaimed, while practically choking me with her hug.

"Sylinche, I saw you just last week." I said laughing. Sometimes she can over exaggerate.

"I know. But we have a lot to talk about. You won't believe what happened over the summer, and there are already rumors going around." She said excitedly.

I sighed, knowing this year would be the same as last year. Drama, Drama, Drama.

"Bre, Imma go chill with my boys over there. See you later." Prodigy said. I almost forgot he was there next to me.

I nodded, and he went towards his group of guy friends. I didn't notice I was staring at him, until Sylinche snapped her fingers in front of my face. I gathered my thoughts, and looked back towards Sylinche, who was smirking at me.

"When are you gonna tell him? You know there are tons of girls that want him, and puberty has done him well over the summer, so they gonna be all up on that."

"Yes, I know that. But he doesn't like me. We're just friends. That's it." I looked back towards Prodigy, and he looked at me. He was waving for me to come. I nodded, and started to walk to the group, with Sylinche following behind me. It was Cheresanto, Jacob, and Rayon. I said hi to them and they all started to jump on top of me.

"Jesus Christ, I missed you guys too." I said smiling. I didn't know I was missed so much.

"And I don't get any hugs?" Sylinche said.

"Of course you can." Chresanto said. He did his little smirk, and hugged Sylinche. I gave her a look, and she winked.

"I'll tell you later." She mouthed at me. I nodded. We all finished hugging, and started to catch up on what happened over the summer.

"So what's been up?" I asked the boys.

"You won't believe what happened." Jacob asked. He told us to lean in, and then he started to whisper. "I heard Ms. Latasha A.K.A Thot of the school, got pregnant."

Everyone gasped, but all I could do is laugh. I was waiting for this ever since 5th grade. Who can't expect her to get pregnant? I mean I wasn't expecting so soon. Probably like 9th or 10th. But this is better.

Do I have something against Latasha? Yes I do. She embarrassed me in front of my whole class, including Prodigy. She tripped me, and put glue in my freaking hair. Why?? She hates me! I don't even know why.

"And here comes the Devil." Sylinche said under her breath, but enough for her to be heard. All the guys started to turn heads, and all I could do is shake my head. Sure she had body. Because she freaking forced it. Like you don't need to wear clothes so tight against your body, for your ass to be noticed. Everyone knows that. She's just too easy.

"Where's the baby?" Someone screamed. There was snickering, and Latasha kept it strutting. How can you not be ashamed? You're fucking 13!!

"Let's go." I told Sylinche. I fixed up my clothes, Sylinche doing the same. I noticed she was wearing blue skinny jeans, with a nice black shirt. She had on a pair of Retro Jordans. She looked good, and her body showed. She looked at me, asking me if she looked okay. I nodded, and she said the same for me.

Then we started walking.

And we had our stares too.

"Ayo, Sabreia when you gonna let me tap that?" A guy said.

"When you can actually handle it." I said back. Sylinche and I started laughing, and kept it walking towards the school.

This school year is gonna be something.
