"When's your flight, again?" a slurred voice asked her.

"4, I'll leave now," she promptly responded, shoving her laptop in her backpack.

Sakura's father nodded back at her, returning back to his own devices.

Sighing, the young girl zipped up her bag. She wrote a short note on the back of a long overdue electricity bill, unable to find any other sheet of paper, stating she had left just in case her father
began to panic in his drunken state.

She tied her hair up and slipped on her shoes on, stepping outside the door.

Sakura wasn't born here.

Moving to Tokyo was a decision her father made after her mother left him with her brother. Being fired from his job was another reason for the shift.

Every day, she'd pray that by some miracle, her father would change, and if not him, something would change that'd improve her life.

To no avail, for almost a decade, from the age of 10 to 17, her birthday wish was wasted on something she soon deemed unrealistic or impossible for herself.

Finally taking things into her own hands, she had decided to go to her brother, the only real relative she had left.

Walking into the lounge, she took a seat near the boarding gates, when her phone began to buzz. Picking it up, she stared at the screen that lit up seeing her brother's contact.

Pshh, I'll probably be in Korea in 3 ish (?) hours

Oks, can't wait to see you :)

Closing the messenger app, she scrolled through her social media, waiting for the boarding call.

Upon hearing the second call, she stood up and joined the line which had become shorter.

As she boarded the plane, all she hoped, was for her life to improve one way or an other.
