Morning soon came, the birds were chirping outside of Coralynn's windows. Though the morning air always relaxes the young lady, today, not so much. Her heart's thumping loudly, she's sweating drastically, and lord knows what the unknown might become.
She checked her little first aid pouch and sooner than later, her family's footmen knocked on her door to come and get her luggage and herself. She told the footmen to go before her, as the servant proceeds to go to the manor's porch, Coralynn looked at her room for the final time. This is the room she grew up all her life in, where she kept her things, belongings, secrets. She is a lady of mystery and the black sheep of her family.
Her bed was still messy, the old wooden wardrobe that she loved, that kept her clothes and some of the prized herbs that she packed in one of her luggage. The cold stone wall that separated her from the world, there are some mosses here and there, but Coralynn tends to collect and use them for diuretic, or coughs. Sighing, she went out of her room and walked off into the cold and lonely hallway to the porch, which was full of the servants and her family awaiting her.
"Ah, you're finally here Coralynn,"
Her father turned to her, smiling, Coralynn thought he was that desperate for her to go, but then seeing her father's eyes, she somehow knew that though he was cold towards her, he's still a father.
"Yes, father, I'm here. I see everyone's here to send me off? A little bit, unnecessary don't you think?"
"What do you mean unnecessary? Coral, we'll miss you!"
Her mother hugged her for a second, only a second. She then was surprised by her pregnant sister who embraced her from her back, she wanted to turn around but was stopped by her sister tightening her arms.
"Don't look at me Coral, I'm sad and heavily pregnant, you cannot, by all means, see this monstrosity of a face."
Coralynn giggled and pats her sister's head,
"Bea, I'm still going to visit on days too, it's not like I'm getting married or anything..."
"But what if I'm at my husband's home? And I'll be having a baby in roughly two more months! Besides I'm no longer fully a Morton, I'm the wife and countess of Felverly..."
"Don't worry dear sister, Coralynn here never breaks a promise. If she says she'll be back, then she'll be back before you know it."
Richard stood in front of his sister smiling, and she too returned the smile. Beatrice soon lets go of her sister, as she received a handkerchief from her twin. Coralynn looked outside to see a carriage, not too grand but not small, with her belongings inside. She didn't bring a lot of fancy garments, just one or two, but she did bring many herbs. Maybe even half of her luggage are herbs.
She walked out of the manor to the carriage waiting for her, one of the coachmen gave his hand to her, signalling her to come in. Before she could even give her hand to him, her sister called out.
"Coral, wait,"
She turned around only to be given a peck on her forehead. Flustered, she touched the area where her sister kissed her.
"It's a farewell gift, remember, I love you- well, we love you."
She hugged her sister and proceeds to turn to the coachman, she settled inside as the footman closes the door. She looked outside the window next to her to see her father nodding at her and her mother clings tightly on the duke's arm. Her brother looked at her, smiling while comforting his twin who can't bear of saying goodbye to her younger sister.
The carriage slowly began the departure to Greenwich Palace. She could still see her family and the people of the manor waving at her, she looked back and forth unable to choose to look forward or back.
