"Hey dipshit get your lazy arse off the couch, the games coming on" i hear Kyle speak too loud for my liking. Groaning i slowly open my eyes and feel the burning sensation start making me quickly reconsider and seal my eyes closed.
Just as i start dosing off into a nice slumber i feel Kyle's cold hands circle my ankles, squeezing them with a deathly grip before he starts pulling "ughh go away you pest. Kyle! NO!" i scream as i grip onto the couch like my life depends on it.
My weak grip let's me down big time as i go tumbling onto the cold laminate floor "why do you even need to exist today" i spit as i pull myself up of the floor and storm into the kitchen for a well needed drink of water.
Holding my head in my hands at the kitchen table my mind tries to think back to last night although it's just blank! I cannot remember a thing.
What the hell happened, how did i even get home?
My phone starts screeching from the side table in the hallway close to the front door luckily for me Oscar comes running in with it "eve you don't look so good ew" he pinches his nose "you stink" his little high voice speaks in disgust.
That's the thing about kids, they tell you the truth and you never know what the hell will come out there little cheeky mouths "gee thanks Oscar"
My eyes squint as i glance at my phone seeing messages flood through from a group chat called "drink 182" scrolling through i spot mason, Jamie and ruby's name as well as two strangers josh and luke.
Reading though the messages vague memories start flooding my mind like singing in the car to meeting masons friends and, oh shit! Mason bringing me home.
My face turns crimson has i feel totally embarrassed at last nights events. I close the WhatsApp group and place my head in my hands pretending that it didn't happen.
Drunk denial is a real thing.
"So who was the guy from last night" lifting my head i see kyle striding into the kitchen with a huge shit eating grin plastered on his face
"Just a friend, helping a very drunk friend home" i quickly change topic as i slide a cold can of juice across the worktop "whats your plans today then"
"Watching the last of the game then heading out to play 7 aside with the guys you?" I laugh "you? Playing football? You know you need to actually move your body for that" he glares at me before making his voice squeaky impersonating me "you know you need to actually move for that" he laughs "i'm more athletic than you, you think movie marathons counts as workouts"
"I do not sound like that but mark my words, i will prove im fitter than you. Me" my finger points at him "you, outside"
And thats exactly how both ended up breathless, sweaty and collapsed on the ground "your both too competitive to lose to one another" dad stands over us, his eyes gleam as he looks down at us, the corners of his mouth turned up "now about you call it a draw and come get some breakfast"
That workout challenge made me feel ten times worse, the hangover is still going strong as i force clothes on, getting ready to go meet everyone at the cafe in town.
♡♡♡
Settled in a little red booth in our local cafe, i grow nervous waiting for Mason, Josh and luke to arrive. We are all strangers after all, who happened to all meet while all under the influence, how weird is this going to be?
The door bell dings signaling their arrival, i immediately make eye contact with Mason who smiles back at me, the butterflies erupt in my stomach either that or its the alcohol from last night threatening to make a comeback
Not moving a muscle i stay put as the 3 approach "what no hug this time Evelyn" josh says making us laugh they take a seat, luke and josh squeeze in beside ruby as mason sits beside me and jamie.
Masons aftershave grabs my attention, oh it smells divine "are you smelling me" his deep voice brings me back to reality as i'm practically leaning on his shoulder "what! N-no of course not, i fell asleep"
His chest vibrates as i cover my face with my hands, mentally cursing myself for being an idiot.
So last night was an absolute blast we all need to do it again" Josh speaks up, his eyes bright, excited to make more plans. He's the only one of us that look relatively alive "how do you do it, i look like I've been dragged through a bush and left like roadkill" i say sipping my iced coffee in hope that it cures me
"You look your usual to me" jamie snorts out smiling in my direction, it doesnt last long as part of brownie slaps him on the cheek making me giggle
"Omg girl! Did you see our instagram reels from last night?" Rubys horrified expression makes my stomach drop, mentally face palm moment as i think what the hell did we do?
"Not going to lie to you Vie, last night got wild" Mason teases me "dont test me boy, ill have you down on your knees" Masons smirk grows wider before winking "Anything for you Vie, all you gotta do is ask" a small laugh escapes my lips
My mind goes into overdrive as i think about him doing all these things to me, causing me to get all hot and bothered, taking a bite of my brownie i choke as it goes the wrong way.
"looking abit flustered there vie, you ok' the bastard shoots me a knowing smirk,
My palm slaps his hard chest, my face breaking out a smile"Dude! We're in the middle of starbucks, pipe down with the innuendoes" luke states before shooting us a lopsided grin "your each others lobsters"
As the conversation takes a turn away from lobsters, mason places his warm hand on my leg making my heart rate acclerate, clearing his throat leaning into my ear "Maybe he's right"
My phone causes us to jump and move apart slightly as i glance down at the reminder thats flashing up "Doctors Appointment 2pm" the current time reads 1:30pm
"Oh shit" quickly standing to my feet, i rumage through my purse pulling out a ten pound note "here's my cut, i gotta go" mason stands his eyebrows furrowed as i rush by him "Everything ok? "Yea, thank you, sorry guys i have somewhere to be. Ill call you all later"
Quickly stopping at the till i purchase a chocolate chip muffin, i can never go to the doctors without having a choc chip muffin waiting on me in the car. Call it silly but it was started by my parents when i had to go as a child and it's something that continues to help with my anxiety and nerves.
It's like a welldone gift at the end, like a sticker the dentist usually gives.
Jamie and ruby spot me giving me a knowing look as i glance over waving, sitting in the car jamie's text comes seconds later "we can come if you like, say the word"
Smiling like an idiot i text back "thanks but it's ok" i press send just as i take off towards the doctors
