Sabrina groaned when she was pulled out of her sleep by your foot hitting her leg. "stop it, y/n." She mumbled and tried to go back to sleep but the sound of your whine pulled her awake again.

She opened her eyes and turned the light on to find you covered in sweat beside her as you whimpered quietly, obviously having a nightmare.

"Y/n? Y/n, wake up!" Sabrina shook your shoulder until your eyes opened wide. You sat up and placed your hand on your chest, feeling your heart pounding against your ribcage.

You jumped when Sabrina's hand touched your shoulder but started to relax when her fingers spread out and moved up and down soothingly.

"Bad dream, baby?" She asked softly, heart breaking at the sight of a tear falling down your cheek. "It was so bad. It felt so real." She moved closer and put her arm around you.

Your head fell to her shoulder as you whimpered and tried to catch your breath. "It wasn't real. Whatever it was, it's not real. You know you're always safe with me."

You nodded and let out a heavy breath. After a moment of silence, Sabrina started to speak again. "Do you wanna talk about it?" You shook your head and just wrapped both of your arms around her to be as close as possible to her. "No."

"Okay. You don't have to, but if you feel like you want to I'm here for you. You know I'll listen, no matter how terrible." You nodded and let her pull you down with her when she laid back again. "Do you need anything?"

You put your head on her chest and reached for her hand, sighing in relief when she laced your fingers together. "Could you sing to me?" She smiled a small smile and kissed your head before she started to sing 'exhale'.

You fell asleep just a few minutes later to the sound of her voice and the feeling of her thumb moving in circles across your knuckles, leaving Sabrina to smile to herself.

She kissed your head and then turned the light off. Her head fell back against her pillow and she closed her eyes again, telling you that she loved you before she fell back asleep, happy that you were sleeping soundly again, too.
