****ONE WEEK LATER****

JASMINE'S POV

Ever since Eddie poured his heart out to me, we've been getting along quite nicely. He told me that besides Harry, I'm the only one who knows the real him. Nobody else knows his story. I feel all special now.

"So why did the chicken cross the road?" Eddie said.

We were sitting on the couch, eating tubes of ice cream.

"Ya know, sometimes I wanna know why we can't live in a world where chickens can cross the road without being questioned." I answered smartly.

He rolled his eyes and laughed.

"Just answer it." He said.

"Ok. Why?"

"To go to your house. Knock knock."

"Who's there?"

"The chicken."

That was so stupid that it was hilarious. We busted up laughing until our cheeks were pink. I think I can consider Eddie a friend now. I mean, we get along great.

"So. When are you gonna talk to Harry?" I asked when our laughter died down.

He looked down and purposely paid more attention to his ice cream.

"Eddie you promised you would."

"How about another knock knock joke?"

"Eddie--"

"Knock knock."

"No--"

"Say who's there."

"You need to--"

"Say it."

"Eddie!"

"What?"

"You need to talk to Harry. One of these days, Harry might kill you and then I'm gonna have to be the one to tell him that you never really did hate him and he's gonna have to live with it for the rest of his life."

"Did you sit there and plan all that out?"

"Eddie!"

"Fine! Get your shoes. You're coming with me."

Me and Eddie arrived at the alley, where we're assuming Harry is, and he actually looked nervous to see Harry for once.

"Don't be nervous. If I know Harry, he's understanding. Just don't come off rough to him or he'll feel like he's being challenged."

He nodded.

"Ok."

We both got out and Eddie was by my side in seconds. We looked at each other and did one nod to each other before walking towards the end of the alley. I could tell he was getting more and more nervous by the second. I can't blame him. He's about to try to talk things out with his brother who hates him to death.

I saw that familiar head of blonde hair, and I knew we were getting close. Now I'm nervous. I'm about to be face-to-face with my ex, coming with the guy I 'cheated on him' with. I didn't really think this through. No going back now.

"Jasmine!" Perrie exclaimed excitedly once she saw me, a huge grin etched onto her face.

But when she saw who I was with, her face turned into an immediate frown.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Jake harshly said to Eddie.

"Jake, stop. He's not looking for any trouble."

"Not looking for any trouble? Jasmine, this guy is full of trouble! Why are you defending him?"

"Where's Harry?" I asked, ignoring his question.

"Why? So he can go sneak up on him and kill him too? Fuck no." Jake rolled up his sleeves and started towards Eddie.

"Jake! No! He's not here for--"

And then I heard multiple gunshots, but my eyes were shut tight and my hands were over my ears tightly. I don't know who fired the shots. I don't know who got shot. I refuse to open my eyes. I heard a scream of horror and I finally opened my eyes.

All I saw was Brooke on the floor against the wall, her hand over her mouth, her eyes filled with tears. I looked beside me and saw Eddie still standing. So that must mean...

"NO!!" I screamed at the sight of Jake.

His cold, lifeless body in a giant pool of blood. I fell to my knees and just bawled my eyes out. I screamed. I hollered. I pulled at my hair. I just couldn't believe what was happening.

He's gone. He's...he's gone.

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD!!" Zayn cried out loud and charged at Eddie.

But Eddie was quick to swoop me up over his shoulder and run to his car. He threw me in the passenger seat and quickly sped over to his side, speeding out of there.

I could only imagine the pain that Brooke must be feeling right now.
