Emily's pov
"Do you have to leave tomorrow?" Maya asked, referring to how I was moving to Rosewood, Pennsylvania since my mom was offered a job. "I know May, but hey, I can always fly out here or you there" I reasoned, rubbing my hand up and down her arm."I don't want you to go" she pouted.
I giggled as she pouted her bottom lip and leaned in to gently kiss her lips. Maya and I have been dating for a while now, almost 8 months next week.
I pulled away and tightened my grip around her waist as we directed our attention back to the tv screen.
Next Day
"Emily!" My mom yelled from the living room. I groaned and grabbed a pillow, putting on top of my head drowning out the noise.
"Emily" my mom said as she walked in and lightly shook my body. I took my head out from under my pillow and stared at her.
"Come on, we're leaving in an hour" she said, leaving my room. I looked to my side and grabbed my phone off the bedside table, 9:18.
I threw my phone to the side of me, landing on the bottom of my bed, and I stood up.
I stretched my arms and walked over to my desk. I picked up the picture a of me and Maya and. She was kissing my cheek and we were at the beach.
I smiled as I remembered the fun day. Then, I put the picture in a box along with the last of the few little miscellaneous items I had.
"Emmy!" My mom yelled. "Coming!" I grabbed my backpack and one last box and walked out of my room.
"Ready?" My mom asked as she grabbed her keys. I nodded before walking out of my house, for the last time.
After, 4 long dreading hours, we finally arrived in Rosewood.
Our house was pretty big. It was the second to last one on the street. It had a porch and it was 2 floors.
When I walked inside, I almost immediately went straight to my room. It was pretty much the same size as in Texas and it had a bed frame with a mattress already, a bathroom and a average sized desk along with a little nook by the large window to over look the small town.
"Like it?" My mom asked nervously as she carefully walked in. "Yes, I love it" I said, smiling making her cheer up and feel a little better about having us move.
"I really am sorry we had to move, honey" My mom started, "I know you had a lot of friends back home and Maya" she finished, looking down.
"Mom, it's okay. Really" I said, grabbing her hands. She softly smiled and got ready to walk out,
"Oh and a girl named, Spencer will be showing you around, tomorrow" She said before leaving.
I nodded, understandingly before going back downstairs to unpack the boxes and look around the rest of the house.
As I was finishing unpacking the last of the boxes, the doorbell rang.
"I got it!" I yelled before opening the door to reveal a tall brunette girl, smiling as she held a basket.
"Hi, I'm Spencer" She said as she extended her hand which I shook.
"You must be the Spencer that is supposed to be giving me a tour of the school tomorrow?" I asked.
"Guilty" She laughed. "Oh, this is for you" She said, handing me the basket of snacks and goodies. "Thank you" I smiled as my mom came down the stairs.
"Mom, this is Spencer.." I trailed off. "Hastings, Spencer Hastings" Spencer said smiling.
"Well, Hello Spencer" my mom said. "Thank you very much, sweetie" My mom thanked Spencer as I gave her the basket.
"No problem, my mom just told me that someone was moving in so I figured to introduce myself and to welcome you to the neighborhood" Spencer informed us.
"Well that's very kind" My mom said.
"I'll uh see you tomorrow.." Spencer said. "Oh, Emily! Emily Fields" I said, smiling. "I'll see you tomorrow, Emily" Spencer said kindly before walking off and down the street to her house.
"She's nice" My mom said as I closed the door. I nodded in agreement. "I'll be upstairs" I said, running up the stairs into my new bedroom.
I flopped back onto my bed and dialed Maya. "Hey, Em!" Maya greeted. "Hey, M" I said, smiling.
"How's the house?" Maya asked.
"Good but I miss you and everyone else" I said a little sad.
"I miss you too, Em. But we'll see each other soon, I hope" She said the last part a little quiet.
"Yeah, so how are you?" I asked.
"Good" She responded. "Maya!" I overheard her mom say in the background. "Sorry, I gotta go" She said, sincere.
"Oh, it's ok..I'll talk to you later?" I said. "Yeah,..bye, Em" She said. "Bye, Maya" I said, hanging up the call. I sighed and laid back down.
Next Morning
My alarm clock went off, waking me up. I groaned and reached over to smack it but winded up missing and falling down off the bed.
I got up and scrunched my nose as I rubbed my head. I shut the alarm off and walked to my closet.
I yawned before opening it and looking through the different clothes. I decided on a plain white t-shirt and a red flannel over it along with ripped jeans and black and white vans. I brushed my hair and let it loosely fall off my shoulders.
Just in case, I grabbed a hair tie and put it on my wrist. I walked into the bathroom and brushed my teeth and washed my face. I put on some light make-up and then lastly I sprayed some perfume and walked downstairs with my backpack.
"Morning, Emmy" My mom greeted as she placed a plate of eggs in front of me. "Morning, thanks" I smiled at her before digging into the breakfast.
"Trying out for anything?" My mom asked, trying to start conversation. "Maybe, basketball?" I said, unsure.
"Well, I'm sure you'll do great no matter what" She said. I lightly smiled before finishing off the last of the food and washed my dish.
"I'll see you later, love you" I hugged my mom then grabbed my bag and left for my first day of school.
