"Saeng il chuk ha ham ni da. Saeng il chuk ha ham ni da. Sarang ha neun -- Jeongguk-shi. Saeng il chuk ha ham ni da!" The 6 hyungs of the birthday maknae sang as Jungkook blew out the small candle on top of a cupcake, provided as a sweet birthday treat.
"Ah, wow," Jungkook awed as his fellow members clapped and cheered. "Thank you, guys, so much. This was awesome!" They all laughed as the youngest dug into his pink frosted cupcake.
"Hey," Namjoon, the group's respected leader, raised his glass. "To another year successfully passed."
"Another year older," Hobi chimed in with a smile that could light up a room, despite the group sitting at a table outside the restaurant they were celebrating at.
"Another year wiser," Jin nodded towards Hoseok, correcting him slightly. Hobi nodded in agreement and laughed.
"Another year to us not killing you... yet," Yoongi poured one out, making the whole table laugh, and getting a playful nudge from Seokjin.
"Another year to all of us being together," Tae looked around the table, receiving smiles to his heartwarming statement.
"Here's to many more years to come!"Jimin nodded to Taehyung as the 7 boys clinked their glasses before taking a swig.
"Hey, Kookie," Jin nudged Jungkook, who sat beside him at one end of the table. He quickly pointed inside the restaurant towards the front counter, where a young man stood staring at the group outside. "That guy has been staring at you basically the entire time we've been here. I think you might have a not-so-secret admirer." Jin teased as Jungkook nearly spat out his drink.
"Wha- what?" Jungkook looked to where his hyung had pointed and could confirm the man was staring by the fact that he quickly looked away and into the back kitchen. "Huh, don't really get that a lot back home."
"Welcome to America," Namjoon chimed in, looking over his shoulder as he sat in front of the maknae. "It's normal here." He didn't mean it any harm, he was just informing the youngest on American norms.
"You can say that again," Jimin - sat between Tae and Hobi - sipped his drink with his pinky out, having been flirted with and checked out by guys several times before. "It's not that it's not normal in S. Korea -"
"Just not as common," Tae - sat between Jimin and Namjoon - finished.
Almost on queue, the waiter who had been staring at JK walked outside and to Jungkook's side of the table, facing towards the door, holding a tall glass.
"I overheard that it was someone's birthday today, so I whipped something quick up for you to celebrate with; it's on the house," the waiter exclaimed in English. He wore a grey beanie over his straightened black hair, and snake-bites that matched the many hoops attached to his ears and one around his left eyebrow. What was most notable about him was hit bright-green eyes that stayed focused on the maknae. Namjoon quickly translated for Jungkook and the others to understand.
The glass was almost filled to the brim milky-white and beige colors, swirled with a smoothie-like texture. Yoongi was quick to notice, from the other end of the table, strange green flakes floating around. He furrowed his brow slightly, not certain if Jungkook should accept a stranger's gift.
"Oh, thank you so much," Jungkook thanked in his best his best English as the waiter smiled and walked back inside, never being seen by the boys for the rest of the night. Jungkook was about to take his first sip before Yoongi protested against it.
