What laws were never broken? Newton's three laws of motion. The first law of motion is an object in motion tend to stay in motion and objects at rest tend to stay at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. The second law of motion is the acceleration of an object depends on the force of the object and the mass of the object. Or in other words Force=Mass x Acceleration. And the third law is for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Theses three laws are very important in space. The knowledge of the first law, the second law, and the third law will make being in space easier.
Newton's First Law of Motion will help guide yourself through space. Newton's first law of motion can also be called Newton's first law of inertia. "Inertia is a property of matter by which it remains at rest or in uniform motion in the same straight line unless acted upon by some external force." Or to dumb this down: you will stay in motion even if something your riding stops because you're not connected to it. Okay so imagine your in space your floating at a fast speed. You will keep going unless you grab onto something or hit something. So if you're just floating you better hope you're connected to the station. This is something to keep in mind when in space.
Newton's second law. This law can also be called Newton's law of acceleration. Acceleration is "the act or process of moving faster or happening more quickly". Or the motion of going faster. So if you and a friend are on a gym scooter and you push off of each other with the same force, whoever has less mass will accelerate faster. And this is where the equation Force= Mass multiplied by acceleration comes in. Or you can move it around to find mass or acceleration as well. Mass= force multiplied by acceleration or Acceleration= Mass multiplied by Force. So if you're in space and you get blown away by hitting the side of the station depending on what force you put on the station, you will accelerate faster or slower depending on your mass. You can never break these laws unless your some kind of god.
Newton's third law of motion. This law can also be called Newton's law of reaction. The reaction is "resistance or opposition to a force, influence, or movement". This law is for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So if you punch a wooden door, the same force you put onto the door will be reciprocated back to you." to make a return for something", or to give back for something given to you. This is why you shouldn't punch things unless needed. But in space, if you hit the side of the space station you would bounce back in the opposite direction because of zero gravity and because of the force applied to the station.
Now with the knowledge of the three laws, you are ready to depart to the stars. But before then I would like to thank you for reading my letter. My grandmother had always loved me to the moon and back but that's not nearly as far as my love of answered questions go. I will be saying goodbye in T -5 seconds, 3, 2, 1.
