Chapter 2: It's Been So Long

Chapter 2

“Well, you seem perfectly normal” Kabuto sighed as he read over the paper in his hands. I stayed put on the metal bench and looked at nothing in particular. The bags under my eyes were quite obvious, considering I haven’t had much sleep due to the shot of pain I’ve been having during the night.

I let out a loud yawn, which caused Kabuto to look at me.

“The pain in your body should be gone, so I suggest you go back to your room and sleep.” I nodded my head in understanding. I stood up from the bench and made my way out the door. As I walked back to my room my eyes kept opening and closing. I can feel the exhaustion through my body.

I feel like just falling asleep right now.

As I made my way closer I accidently bumped into someone. I slowly bowed. “Sorry.”

I turned around and continue to walk into the direction of my room. As I kept walking my body got slower until I fully closed my eyes and darkness was the only thing I could see.

The soft fabric under my skin felt like I was laying on a cloud. A small moan of delight left my lips as I turned over on the comfortable bed. I spread my body out on the bed and stretched. Finally sitting up in bed I rubbed my eyes and let out a stifled yawn.

When I open my eyes the unfamiliar surroundings made my eyes widen. Where am I?

I stood from the bed and realized I’m still in the lair, but not in my room. I tried to remember how I go there, but all I remember was leaving the lab. I walked to the door to leave, but it wouldn’t budge open. I scratched my head in confusion.

A weird feeling bubbled inside me. It was a strange one, something she hasn’t felt in a long time. It was an uncertain feeling. I’m not sure how to put it, something obviously doesn’t feel right.

I slowly made my way to the bed and sat down. Hmm, what if Kabuto change my rooms? No, he would of told me before I left. I looked at the room, it looks like someone stays here, considering the bag in the corner. On the nightstand there was a picture. I saw a flash of blonde on the picture and my eyes widen. My mind finally put the pieces together and I know where I’m at.

A groan escape my lips as my heart started pounding loudly. Of all places, Sasuke’s room.

Wait…

That means he picked me up and took me all the way to his room.

Does he still remember me? It has been a long time and I have changed in looks, so he couldn’t have recognized me, right?

I picked up the picture gently in my hands and saw the familiar faces of my friends. I felt my eyes water slightly. It’s been so long.

I wonder how they’re doing. Are they still safe? Are they still on the hunt for Sasuke? Are they looking for me?

The door knob unclicked and I place the picture back on the nightstand. My heart slight flustered when the door opens. The silhouette of the familiar Uchiha was noticeable with the faint light coming from the hallway outside.  The door closes and light enters the room, it’s not much but I can see the Sasuke’s face.

His eyes flicker to me sitting on the bed. I could feel the tension that suddenly arose in the room. My hands felt clammy and I felt my throat dry. Why am I feeling like this?

I cleared my voice. “Uh, why am I in your room?”

His stays silent as he still stares at me. I couldn’t see his dark orbs, so I couldn’t see what they say. He silently walks over till he’s in front of me. I stare up at him as his eyes come in sight and I see those red sharigan eyes. My eyes widen.

“It really is you, Kai.”

My heart faltered for a moment when he said my name. He remembers.

“Sasuke” I whispered. His hands caress my face as he leaned down till our faces were inches apart.

“What are you doing here?” he asked. His voice was strained, and surprised. I gulped.

“Orochimaru brought me here.” His eyes flickered and I saw anger flash through his eyes. He let go of my face and stood up straight. He looked anywhere but me.

“Sasuke” I stood up in front of him. His once red eyes were now his regular onyx color that I missed so much. I felt my eyes watered a little again. I could help but wrap my arms around his torso and clutch onto him tightly. I soon felt his embrace, his hand on the back of my head and the other around my lower back.

“Kai.”

Hey guys! *dodges tomatoes*

I am sincerely sorry the forever long update, but to completely honest I’ve been SO busy! School and sports are making me completely exhausted and so much writer’s block! It’s so nerve wracking!

So, how about the sweet and adorable moment of Kai and Sasuke! I figured that since they are going to have to see each other that it’ll be then. Anywho, hope you guys like!

Also, thanks you guys for commenting telling me to update. It helps me remember to and I don’t want to let you guys down. (Even though I probably already have.)
