Chapter 8 Truth

You sat on your bed, looking at the stars from the window.
You remembered what Khan had told you, that he was part of the stars.. That he was trapped in them.

You could feel a strong feeling come over you watching the stars.. You
desperately wanted to see his true colors.. Your mind kept traveling from days to nights with him. Like the one night he saved you from those creatures..

Sayu told you how he single handedly killed all your captures and carried you all the way to the ship and into the medical module.

Khan never left your side even for work. Sayu told you there where times when she caught khan sleeping and holding your hand.

You had grown attached to him. And your more then confused on how exactly you managed that.

Well thinking of these things you hear a voice tickle at your ear, barely able to depict what it was saying you decided to go investigate.
You soon pick up its Familiar tone, it was Sayu.

You walk threw the halls following the sound of your sisters voice..
She was screaming.. But not of terror.. Of anger..you couldn't understand why.

You got really close to the brig where you heard the voices but paused not wanting to enter and be seen.

You heard the voices increaseing
and now could hear what they where saying.

"HOW COULD YOU?!!! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO US!!"
Your sisters voice bounced off walls, high pitched and venom filled.

"You don't understand! I'm sorry I'm sorry I didn't know!!" Khan replied to her in a loud booming voice.

Any idea who they where.. I wouldn't have done it." Khan remained a bitter filled mess.. His face didn't give off any particular emotion..

It didn't seem as though he was sad or sorry for what he had done.
But what did he do? Why would sayu be so upset over it?

"BUT YOU DID!! I know what you do khan... I know our missions and I know they go against everything.. The whole crew knows!
But this time... This time was not a mission.. This time... You where just cruel!!"

Sayu was crying, her damp eyes and red faced blistered with mixed emotions of hatred, sadness, and betrayal.

"Set corse for earth, I want off this ship!!" She shouted.

You backed up into the wall and stared blankly at the floor thinking.
Sayu walked right past you but in her rage didn't even notice your presence.

You looked back in the room where khan was standing, his head in his hands, not crying.. But very frustrated.

"Khan?" You asked walking in.
He quickly straightens himself and looks up.

He cleared his throat.
"Yes?" He asked. But his voice was not a wave of thunder anymore.. It was shattered like glass.

"What- why was sayu yelling at you??" You looked up at his frustrated features.

"I don't know.. She.. Must have me mistaken." He replied, his breathing was heavy and his eyes and face where expressionless.

You reached out and hugged him his arms still rubbing his head as you clung to his chest.
"It's all right I'm sure she will forgive you soon." You said. He hugged you back pressing you against him.
His ferm body was somewhat softer now.. His embrace echoed a different kind of emotion then normal. It's almost as if.. He was scared.

"Sayu?" You stuck your head in your sisters room.

"S-sayu??" You saw her laying on her bed.. She was crying. Her soft features barried in despair as if she had lost everything.

"(Y/n)...... We are leaving this ship.."
She said.. Her voice cracking as she sat up.

"What?! Why?!" You nearly shouted at her.

"We cannot stay in a place that took everything from us."

"What- what are you talking about?"
"Come here, sit down, there's something I need to tell you."

You sat down beside her, she rubbed her blurry eyes and cleared her throat.

"Did you ever wonder who dad was?"
She paused and shifted her weight.
"He was a member of star fleet right? Who was honored." You replied, remembering what your mother had told you.

"No, he wasn't."
"What? Then... Who is he?"
You looked at your sister as her gaze was glued to the floor.

"When mom was on star fleet she travels to distant galaxy's..
One plant she was sent to, was only for research. But... Mom met someone..."
"Dad?"
"Yes, he was very close to human looking but he had gills, pointed ears, and red eyes... They fell in love to say the least... But they weren't allowed to stay together.
She was on the planet for 3 days learning... And then I happens... When she left the planet she was gone for nearly 5 years before returning. Then you happens.... None of this is really that important but..."

"NOT IMPORTANT!" You stood wide eyed. "I thought he was a honored star fleet officer! I thought he was human!"

"(Y/n)... Please.... After mom died... I had to know everything... I researched it..."

"WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME!!"
You screamed in frustration.
"(Y/n)... I-"

"Why don't we have gills?!! Why don't we have red eyes and pointed ears?!!" You where confused and completely angry.

"Mom--- genetically... Altered our DNA..." She replied, you spinned around holding your head and shutting your eyes in anger.

"Is he dead?!! Or was that a lie to?!"
"He was alive... Intel yesterday..."

"What are you talking about sayu!! Why yesterday?!"

She looked around the room... Traumatized.

"Khan killed him...... Khan killed our inter species."
