Part I-The end of the Relationship

The Breakup

This day was one of the most important of Shanny's life and the scar that made him look after himself and learned how his ever-lasting might at his work never made him a chance to love.

By morning, he was at his very normal pace as his Secretary, 1LT Apple woke him up and brought his breakfast in his quarters. The General, upon seeing his breakfast of bacon, hasbrown, tocino and eggs uttered:" A good breakfast for the wrong day." He ate his breakfast, gave the empty tray with the plate and mug of coffe to Apple and took a shower to get to work.

He went to his office at 0830 hours and waiting inside was his aide-de-camps, COL Nathan and MAJ Jazmine who were awaiting for any orders. The 2 officers, 28 and 25 years old respectively are once GEN. John Paul "JP" Uri's best officers and has been under his wing during the massive campaign to stop China of it's activities in the South China Sea that has already threatened the entire Pacific.

As Shanny entered his office, the 2 immidiately stood and saluted before returning to their seats. Apple stayed outside the office seated on her desk arranging the General's schedule.
He has a meeting with JP who is currently the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and with GEN. Angelo Carpiso who is currently the Military Police Commandant.

The 22 year-old Lieutenant was in the middle of arranging the meeting when the General's head of security, Sir Benjamin Cleveson went to her desk holding a folder asked if the General is in his office. Apple said yes to Benjamin and she asked what was in the folder. Benjamin replied "It's the General's personal folders containing items that only I'm allowed to have access." Benjamin looked shocked as he looks like he couldn't tell the General of what he found. Upon entering Shanny's office, the General dismissed his aides out of his office carrying the papers they need to work on. Benjamin placed the folder he has on the table and he sat down the seat where Jazmine was seated before he arrived.

Shanny looked shocked and severely upset as the folder contained a picture of his girlfriend, Catherine with another man who's name was Mark according to one of his security personnel that he specifically ordered to watch her. Before Benjamin could say anything, Shanny said "You don't need to say anything, Ben. I already found the thing that I need, wonderful work." Thanks to the General's somehow bad nature of having trust issues with coworkers, friends and family members, he finally found a valuable evidence on why Catherine has been acting drastic for the past 2 weeks.

He then walked to Apple's desk which is located outside his office and told her to clear his schedule at 1830 hours onwards for the day and his entire morning schedule the following day. Apple replied "But sir, the immidiate cancelling you requested is not gonna go well with the other Generals whom you are supposed to meet this afternoon." He replied "Tell them that I have adjusted the schedule to give them more time to arrange the things needed in the said meeting." Apple simply nodded with approval with clear shock on why her boss suddenly adjusted his schedule.

Within the next four hours, Shany decided to have JP in his office who is currently on his 3 hour-break and was somehow a bit of a professional on relationships but has no real life experience with it. The 2 Generals discuss the situation that came upon one of them. Shanny isn't one of those people who likes giving people second chances on people who would do such a thing behind his back, and a few of JP's advices was somehow not in good terms with his friend's legendary attitude of severe trust issues. JP did everything he could to convince his boss to save his relationship with his girlfriend but Shanny had enough of everything and had already accepted that maybe having a family of his own nor having a wife is not his life's calling. He had tried his best to keep his relationship running while he also kept up the daunting tasks he had been dealing with for the past 2 years.
