Kyle Veigar sat silently in the cold interrogation room. He was wearing a plain black shirt and jeans, and he forgot his jacket. His hair hung over his eyes, but he was too lazy to flip his hair back. The walls were stone brick, the floor was concrete and Veigar couldn't see the ceiling due to his hair. The door creaked open, and a skinny detective walked in.
"About time, Jim! I've been waiting here for three hours. I've been so bored and lonely," Kyle whimpered.
"You've been in here for twenty minutes and my name is Theo," Theo responded, unamused.
"Drat, I was close though." Kyle flipped his hair back. He lifted his hands up towards Theo as much as he could. "Wanna remove these cuffs for me?"
"Not just yet Mr. Veigar. We have things to discuss," Theo stated, placing a folder onto the table and sitting opposite Kyle.
"You're so boring, you know?"
"So I've been told. Look, I'm going to keep this simple for you Veigar, we need your.. friend's help."
Veigar's smile slowly left his face. He sat up straight in his chair. "What exactly do you know about my friend, Theo?"
"Well, we know that he has some valuable abilities. Do you think you could relay a message to your friend, Mr. Veigar?"
"Well, that depends on the message you want relayed."
Theo looked at him, his glasses resting on his nose. "We need The Jester, Mr. Veigar. I know you left that life behind... but we need him."
Kyle stared distantly past Theo. Almost reminiscing. "Theo.. my friend. You know why that's behind me."
"I do. But you must understand," Theo pushed the files slowly towards Kyle, "We desperately need him."
Kyle scoffed, opening the file. Three reports, two attached with semi-blurry photos. Kyle could make out a man with metallic arms in one, and a man shooting fire in the other. "Where's the third photo?"
"That's exactly the thing with that one," Theo replied.
"What is this?"
Theo took a deep breath, adjusting himself. "People have called them superhumans. We believe they correlate to the recent explosions at Cyclone power plants. Sightings only started after it all happened." Veigar stared at the files, sighing. "Please. You're the only one that can beat them." Theo got up and unlocked Kyle's cuffs, before leaving the room.
Veigar closed the file, unsure of what he was about to get dragged into.
