Jennifer's POV:

The woman's outburst irked Jennifer. She had told her to ignore the barking yet the woman had not done so. However, she did not want that particular scene to result in the actress potentially losing the job, so she played it cool—though her eardrums were still annoyed.

"How long have you been in show business?" Jennifer asked the woman with a smile. She couldn't tell what it was, but the chemistry did not feel right between them. Nevertheless, she was polite.

"Quite long," the woman answered back. She too felt the awkwardness between them.

Jennifer wanted the meeting to end. Her mind drifted to Laurel—where she might be, what was holding her up, how they might get along. She hoped to God that Laurel was the one, because this other girl sure wasn't. Even though she never met Laurel, she had a feeling they'd get along much better.

Jen was so preoccupied with thinking about Laurel that she didn't even notice when the woman stood up. "I think I've had enough," she said.

Jennifer could not believe her ears. She felt insulted and disrespected. Still angered by the situation, Jennifer stood up and shook her hand a little too firmly. She was raised to be respectful... which led to subtlety, which led to passive-aggression.

At last the meeting was over and she would be meeting the woman that had captivated her mind for the past twenty-four hours. The trailer door opened and the rude woman made her exit. Before the door shut the whole way, a honey blonde appeared in Jennifer's peripheral vision, which she knew could only mean one thing: Laurel Holloman was on the premises.

Jennifer waited inside, thinking about ways to greet Laurel. The handshake greeting didn't work too well minutes earlier. Do a wave? Introduce the dog first?

She heard the door once again and opened it. Her face lit up at the sight of the beautiful blonde.

"Hello, I'm Laurel Holloman," Laurel introduced herself. Jennifer's heart had never beaten so fast before in her life before now. She did not want to look away; Laurel's beauty had trapped her full attention.

"I know," Jennifer said, matching her tone with Laurel's cheery one. "You may come in, but be careful of my dog. Just ignore him."

There was something about Laurel that made her Jennifer grin from ear to ear.

Third-person Omniscient POV

Laurel nodded, let out her breath and thought, "This is it." She went inside Jennifer's trailer, not entirely sure what would happen.

"I honestly can't believe I'm meeting you. You're amazing." Laurel quickly complimented.

Jennifer appeared stunned—for once, she wasn't sure what to say. So, instead of speaking, she instead motioned for Laurel to sit.

Laurel sat down, still smiling and ignoring the German Shepherd. Jennifer sat down adjacent to her on the hazel-colored ottoman. There was a moment of silence before anyone spoke.

"Aw, I think he likes you!" Jennifer proclaimed excitedly, while the dog rolled his body against Laurel's foot. "He's never been this calm before. Guess it's meant to be.".

Upon hearing those words, Laurel's pale skin turned bright red. "I guess so. Yeah!" She answered, trying to sound as energetic as Jennifer.

Jennifer, feeling more comfortable in the meeting, glanced over at the ring on Laurel's left hand. She pointed at it.

"So, who's the lucky guy?" she asked, a bit jealous.

Laurel grinned big. There was something about the way she said "lucky." Her alluring voice stirred a sort of tension in her—a sexual one she had to readjust in her seat to suppress.

"Oh, his name is Paul. We're engaged, actually." She felt a twinge of pain mentioning his name, but tried not to let it show.

"Oh, that's amazing, Congratulations." Jennifer seemed genuinely happy for her—even more than Laurel was for herself. "Do you have a dress picked out?" She gazed into Laurel's beautiful light brown eyes.

"I do, I have it already. The date is set for July 13th." Her breath caught as she thought about something. "Wow, gosh, I can't believe it's that soon." As the scorching sun and hot weather suggested, it was early June.

"I remember when I got married," Jennifer said. "A good dress makes you feel so beautiful." She was happy reminiscing of the second-best day of her life. If the rest of this workday went well, today could become the first.

"Well, I'm sure he's a very lucky guy too." Laurel sweetly interrupted Jennifer's thoughts.

The sun set and the two were still conversing. They had such a splendid meeting that they forgot they had other things to do.

"Would you look at that?" Jen said. "We must've talked for hours. It's 8:00pm!" They both erupted in laughter.
