PART 2

EXT. DAYTIME - SIDE OF A RIVER

We cut to a shot of three young teenagers, two boys and a girl, splashing about in the river. Chucking Rocks, etc. They laugh and carry on.

The friends all sit on the rocks beside the river, they are still laughing and smiling.

One of the boys begins to talk, however his head is down as if he does not want to say what he is about to.

AARON

I gotta start heading back... Mom wants me home for dinner tonight

CARL

It's SUMMER VACATION man! Why do you need to be home right now!?

AARON

Because if we want to camp out tonight in the tent, I cant give my mom a reason to cancel it.

CARL

SUCKS!

AVA

Yeah, I have to get going too.

The group gets up and begins to gather their things. We see another group of kids pull up on bikes in the background.

We get a better view of the boys, they look like ruffians. One of them starts to yell.

CHARLIE

HEY AVA! WHY DON'T YOU COME HANG OUT WITH SOME REAL GUYS! NOT THESE LOSERS!

Ava is not amused, she retorts in a snarky manner.

AVA

"REAL" GUYS?! IF THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL YOURSELF, THEN YOU HAVE A POOR DEFINITION OF IT!

The main ruffian, Charlie, is not amused by this sarcastic response. Once of his friends snickers at the response. He looks over at his friend and punches him in the shoulder angrily.

CHARLIE

FUCK YOU AVA!

We see Ava, still not amused. She grabs her backpack, as she finishes stuffing her personal items into it. She stares over at Charlie and his friends, then points at him mockingly.

AVA

I'D WATCH THAT LANGUAGE IF I WERE YOU. UNLESS YOU ALREADY FORGET THE LAST TIME YOU SPOKE TO ME LIKE THAT?!

We see Charlie's face, he has a look of surprise as he rubs his cheek. The other guy with Charlie snickers. Charlie reacts with a punch to his shoulder. The boy winces in pain, rubbing the spot.

CHARLIE

(mumbling)Bitch...

From the view of the 3 friends, we see the Ruffians take off on their bikes. Ava and the guys finishing grabbing their stuff and begin to walk on.

EXT. DAYTIME - SIDEWALKS IN TOWN

The view pans in to show the 3 friends, coming towards the camera on the sidewalk. One of the kids, Aaron, is on a bike, while the other two are walking. They are deep into conversation.
