Idea: 'I think that you're not as dark as you want people to believe"
This takes place after you and Kai escape the prison world for the second time (Kai now also being a vampire) and everyone still believed Kai was bad.

You sat on the recently fixed swinging chair outside on your porch eating strawberries and grapes, letting the sweet taste roll down your throat bringing a smile to your face. The sun was blazing onto your skin, surely to leave a little sunburn if you sat out there long enough. At the moment, you were waiting for Kai to show his face, you told him to meet you so you could talk about somethings since you hadn't really had the chance to talk properly since you guys came back. Lots of things had happened to quickly for your liking, the fact that Kai had merged with Luke and now started to feel emotions, the fact that you had started crushing on Kai, the fact that they had left you and Kai in the prison world and he was turned into a vampire at Jo's wedding with Alaric, the fact that he was now eating your strawberries... You immediately snap out of your thoughts and frown at him, "That was my strawberry..." You whine at him as he takes another but instead feeds it to you, you open your mouth and he places the strawberry in, his fingers brushing your lips making your heart feel fuzzy. "So...Y/n. What did you call me here for? I assume it's not just because you want me to eat the rest of your fruit?" He says wearing a soft smile. You roll your eyes, shifting yourself into a comfier position on the wooden bench letting Kai sit next to you, his legs were parted, back hunched over and his elbows were resting on his legs, holding both hands together.. He was wearing nothing fancy, just a simple shirt with a jacket and some slightly ripped jeans, he still looked hot though.

You really didn't want this conversation, he's was going to be hurt with what was said but it had to be done, it was driving you crazy, he'd tried so hard to get Bonnie to listen to his apology, it broke the him when he saw that she wanted nothing to do with him... "I wanted to talk to you about...things" you pause looking at him as he just stares at you waiting for you to carry on. "I...I wanted to say I'm sorry, I'm sorry for the way my friends treat you, I wish they'd just give you a second chance, I've tried everything I can to try to convince them to but they think I'm crazy." You let out a nervous laugh and look at him trying not to show pity (you knew he disliked when you did that), "Maybe I am, maybe I am crazy for being your friend, you murdered your siblings", he looks down sadly and you see his face full of regret, "You drove Damon crazy, you tortured Bonnie, you knew Luke would die and you let Liv suffer in the pain, you ruined Jo's wedding and killed her, you really did awful things.", he looks at you but then looks away letting tears roll down his face, "Y/n...I don't understand... why? Why did you remind me..?", you grab his face to look at you, holding both your hands on his stained cheeks. "Because they are the reasons that they look at. That's all they see you for. They didn't try to get to know you! I think you're not as dark as you want people to believe. It really does crush me to see you like this. They don't know you. Malachai Parker, you are one of the best people I know, you may have done those things but god, you're doing everything you can to try to prevent more things from happening, you're trying to stop that bad side from reaching the surface again and I believe you can do it. I believe in you. I'm happy that you're my friend, you didn't force me into it and I don't believe you ever would have. Heck you're more than my friend...", you mumble the last part hoping he didn't listen, and at this point, you were crying as well, but you still carried on wiping his tears with your thumbs. You stand up pulling him up with you and pull him into a hug resting your head on his chest, his heart was going wild matching yours perfectly. At first he froze not knowing what to do but he put his arms around you and pulled you in tighter, putting his chin in the crook of your neck, "I-I....Y/n thank you...I-I don't know how to put this but...I feel something...I feel this strong emotion towards you, like a magnet, I want to see you more, hear your voice, you make me...happy? I have no idea why you" he sighs and takes a deep breath, "....I'm just... so lucky to have you." He had stopped crying now and had calmed down, you were a little flustered by his sudden confession of feelings but you knew he was still getting used to them, he's probably got mixed feelings about everything and you probably overwhelmed him. "You make me feel really weird, I get this warm feeling inside me that feels like is consumes me, every time I talk to you or I'm near you, I go slightly dizzy, when you call me by my full name it's like I feeling of excitement runs in me...what's wrong with me?" You smile into his chest, your heart melting into oblivion. "Nothings wrong with you Kai. You just... Umm... how do I phrase this? Kai, if I asked you to leave with me and never come back would you? If I told you to stay with me forever would you?" You asked him, your heart pounding in your ears, you wondered if Kai was listening to your unsteady heartbeat pound away like drums. "Yes I would, I'd do it in a heartbeat if it was for you, I'd do anything you asked me to", you pull away from the hug and stand away from Kai a little, your face was glowing and you wore the biggest smile you could find. "Kai Parker...Are you in love with me?" His eyes search yours before he starts sheepishly smiling, "I think I am", With that your knees buckle under you and with a swift movement Kai had caught you just in time, one hand holding on your lower back and the other around the back of your neck and you quickly latched yourself onto him, one hand behind his neck and the other resting on his chest "Oh my god! I do love you! I love you!" He excitedly called out much like a little kid. You were overwhelmed but with happiness, "I love you too Malachai".

Through the rush of excitement and happiness, you both leant forward closing your e/c eyes, his soft lips met your chapped ones, it wasn't a rough kiss but tender, a loving kiss, the kind of kiss that made you get tons of butterflies and made you feel like you were floating. It electrified energy through your veins and your heart felt like it were going to burst. You both pull away resting foreheads on each other smiling and gazing into each other's eyes. "Well well, looks like Cupid finally shot the arrow" you hear a voice from behind you, Kai lifts you back on your feet and you start laughing, "Damon! Oh my god!" He glares at you and Kai...What a day.
