2 antidepressants, 1 vitamin D, 2 vitamin C, one shot of extra protein, Tylenol, a couple glasses of water, and half an apple was what Rainbow Dash called 'breakfast' every morning. After she 'ate', she brushed her teeth and proceeded to get ready for her day. On one specific day, the first day of sophomore year, Rainbow was out of antidepressants. She felt lazy, disgusting, ugly, the same as every other morning. But to make matters worse, she had no way of having a possibility of being happier.

On most mornings Rainbow Dash could peacefully and quietly prepare for her day, but today her little foster brothers and sisters had to get ready as well. She tried her best to ignore the random squeals and cries, while she pulled her clothes onto her thin body, or ran a comb through her previously bright hair.

While on the bus to Sky Flyer high school, Rainbow examined the people around her, searching for new faces, different hairstyles, nicer clothes. She wondered if anypony would stop her in the hallway between classes to ask how her summer was.
Of course they won't, the voice in her head reminded her again, nopony cares about you.
Oh yeah, she thought, I forgot.

Rainbow felt a vibration in her stomach, reminding her she didn't eat much a meal that morning. She hoped the sound of all the chatter of other ponies drowned out the sound of her stomach demanding food. Dash placed a hoof on her stomach. It felt small, slim, skinny, even. But all she saw when she looked down was fat fat fat.

The noticeable scars scattered across her arms and legs like stars and constellations were another reminder of how much of a failure she was.

When Rainbow Dash looked up and away from her legs, her eyes met another set of eyes on the bus seat across from her. She quickly darted her eyes away from the cyan stallion, not wanting attention on herself. Out of her peripheral vision, Rainbow caught the boy, who looked about her age, staring back at her.

Then, before she knew it, she felt the weight of somepony else sitting next to her on the seat. Judging by the weight, the body seemed like the school's well-known bully, Thunder Wing. A dark purple hoof lifted up and gave her a hard shove in the shoulder. Rainbow fell backwards in her seat, her head banging on the metal frame of the window. The half of the bus Rainbow rode on roared with laughter.

When Dash opened her eyes after the painful encounter, her vision was blurry and her head was pounding like somepony took a jackhammer to it. She kept her eyes fixed on the ground, not wanting to face the bus full of ponies with tears threatening to edge from her eyes.

Rainbow Dash felt Thunder's hind hoof pound down on her own, making her leg feel like a piece of uncooked spaghetti that someone was attempting to snap.
"To afraid to look at me?" a deep feminine voice roared in her ear. There was a sudden grip on her hair as her head jerked toward the back of her seat
Thud.
Pain ran through her scalp as her hair was pulled again and her face was forced to meet Thunder Wing's. Rainbow could see the bully's hoof rising into the air, and she prepared for the pain she was about to feel. Just as Thunder's hoof was about to descend into Rainbow's face, a blue hoof gripped the purple pony's wrist and twisted it back.
When Rainbow looked at the saviour pony's face, it was the same boy who was staring at her minutes ago.

While Thunder wriggled and attempted to escape under the blue pony's grasp, Rainbow made eye contact with him and tried to warn him. It's not safe to be defending her.
'Leave!' Rainbow mouthed.
The pony shook his head 'no' and twisted Thunder's wrist harder.

"Leave. Her. Alone."
With each word the boy jerked Thunder Wing's arm farther and farther down her back.

She groaned and some could see the tiny trickle of moisture slip down from her eye onto her cheek.
"Fine!" Thunder screeched, "Now let me go!"

The strong and brave male pony released Thunder, and she stocked away shaking her shoulder socket. The bus fell totally silent. Nopony stands up to Thunder Wing. And nopony stands up for Rainbow Dash.
Whoever this new kid was, he was not off to a great start of the year.

Yeas, I know, Rainbow Dash is confident and cocky, unlike my version of her in this story. You will understand all of it once the story plot starts to make sense. Please bare with me and continue reading.

Stay cute! 💕
