Rainbow Dash set the bouquet of roses atop the gravestone, where wilted flowers sat while they grieved. Rainbow had left no tears to shed, they had fled her months ago. She was done with crying - emotions altogether, really.

Dash's mother had died in a hospital in Mainhatten, sick with cancer and severe depression. She managed to let a small smile onto her dried and cracked lips whenever Rainbow Dash was near, and she wished it could have been longer that she'd seen her each time. Just to see the sweet innocence of happy little Dashie, always giddy and smiley for a few minutes longer.

Rainbow Dash couldn't bare that side of herself anymore.

It had been four months since her mother's death when it happened. Rainbow Dash was diagnosed with depression and anorexia nervosa, along with anxiety.

Even the flowers looked sad as they drooped over the concrete prism, with the name of her mother engraved on its face. At the bottom it stated 1976-2010, her birth year, and the year of her death.

Rainbow Dash was 14 when her mother's heartbeat stopped.

Dash exhaled a deep sigh, her breath visible in the February morning air. She took one more glance at the place her mother would lay, resting, and then turned away, her hooves softly thudding in the frost-covered grass as she walked back to the foster home.
