The Magic in Everyday Occurances

For many days throughout the year things fly right by you. Things like the warm feeling of waking up snuggled in your fluffy comforter, or the gentle greeting of a co-worker who had taken the time to wish you a good morning despite being in a rush. These little things in life often provide some of the most euphoric feelings when noticed, but are often not a part of even the smallest thoughts as we move through our busy lives. Today though, Chan decided to take note of all of the little things. Allowing for the few extra minutes of his time to be spent taking in the beautiful world around him. He woke up to the sound of his alarm, which was set an hour early so that he could press snooze just a few to many times. But this morning was different. He didn't dread getting up and going to work, a feeling that was pleasant but definitely unusual. Instead he noted the soft lights from the sunrise spilling through the empty spaces in between his curtains and appreciated how safe and warm he felt underneath of his blanket. Chan's lips turned up into a smile as he sat up slowly and took a deep breath in, enjoying the morning air. He got up and made his bed, which wasn't part of his regular morning routine, but just felt right. After completing his usual morning tasks of showering, doing his hair and getting changed, he realized he had a whole hour and a half before he had to be at work. So he chose to put on some make up and stop at his favorite coffee shop. Normally he would only go on weekends, but he had time. This one morning would change his life forever. Today, Chan would meet Y/N. Today, Chan would realize the magic in every day occurrences.
