Reader's POV
To whom reads this book, my name is Reader and I am a lamia (female half human half snake). I live in a den on my own near the village where there are other lamias and Nagas which is ruled by twin alphas.
I am known as the 'reserved lamia' because I live on my own and have no friends. I don't really talk to anyone and spend most of my time in my den. I hunt my own food, collect water from the river and live my life independently. No one knows my story, my reason why I carry so much burden.
Well long ago...
Flashback...
When I was small lamia, I tried to make friends with other lamias in the village, however all they could do is to slither away from me or talk false gossip about me like,
"Oh my! Here is Reader, her hands is full of blood. She killed her parents just to have the den to herself. We should leave before she get our hands dirty with her wickedness."
Those words hurt me, broke me and those stories were not true at all. My parents were killed by humans, just because they found me near their dead bodies when the humans escaped. The alpha by that time called me in and the council decided that to banish me out of the village.
So I left the village, found a den to call 'home' and lived inside there ever since. I learnt how to hunt my own food, collect water from the river and never socialised with anyone. My hatred for everyone grew every since.
Flashback end...
No one gave me a chance to speak my side of the story, instead they call me names and give glares of hatred and disgrace. I decided to become mute by choice.
