"That was me & ur ghost by Blackbear." The radio show host's voice fills the car as I drive to Malibu with Billie and my new friend Alesia. We decided we deserved a day of relaxation, and I had yet to check out the coast of California, as I had been a bit caught up trying to get into the swing of things. "This next song is a brand new release by an up-and-coming artist. She took the internet by storm just a week ago, pulling in well over a million streams on her first single in a short 24 hours after it's release. And judging by how great this new song is, she's going places. Here's Deja Vu by At First Bloom." I jerk the steering wheel a little, unsure of if I had heard the radio correctly.

"Dude the fuck? Are you okay?" Alesia asks, concerned.

"Yeah, I just thought I heard something on the radio, that's all." I reply, confused. Suddenly I hear familiar lyrics flowing through the speakers.

          "I don't wanna know

Where you're coming from, or where you're going

All I wanna know is who you are

          And where you are

          And what we are"

Billie lets out a gasp and look's in the backseat, seeing shock in Alesia's face as well. My mouth just hangs open, and I pull the car over to the side of the road. "Oh my god. Oh my god." Is all I can say.

"Jay. It's-" Alesia cuts Billie off.

"Bitch. It's your song." I just stare at them with my mouth open. Alesia reaches forward from the backseat and cranks up the volume. Tears start streaming down my face. Alesia starts screaming my lyrics and Billie pulls out her phone and sings along while recording us.

          "I don't wanna know you

Baby I just wanna hold you

With your lips up on my neck

          I'm an emotional wreck

I think imma need a second to breathe

You're the only one I'm close to

Our time is through, I'm done opening up to you

          Call it what you want

Yeah I know you like to taunt

But I'm tired of you haunting me"

I wipe the tears from my cheeks, smiling as wide as my lips could bear. "My song is on the radio." I mumble, cracking another smile, followed by a squeal. "MY SONG IS ON THE RADIO!" I yell, a surge of joy running through my body, serotonin flowing in abundance. The three of us sing along to the song, dancing around and grinning like mad men. The song comes to an end and I sigh, leaning back in my seat. Billie posts the video on her instagram stories and writes "Her song came on the radio and she started crying. So proud Jay!" I put the car in drive and pull back onto the road, finishing the drive to the beach.

About 15 minutes later, we're walking on the sand toward the shore. I place a towel down and pull my dress off, setting it on the towel with everyone else's clothes and bags. "Last one in the water has to buy dinner!" I yell and run, Alesia and Billie on my heels. We run into the ocean and start splashing each other with the water. We spend hours swimming around and messing with one another. The sun eventually starts to set and we decide to head back to LA.

The painful sound of my iphone's radar ringtone blares through my room and I let out a grunt, not particularly excited to go to work today. I hit the snooze button and try to get a few more minutes of rest, but to no avail, Millie climbs onto my chest and starts kneading my boobs. "Millie, it's too early to bake bread." I whine, earning a little meow from the kitten that's clearly asking for breakfast. I sigh and pick up Millie, bringing her to the kitchen and putting food in her bowl, which she eagerly accepts. I head back to my room and grab a black slip dress and a white tee shirt. I pull the tee shirt onto my body and slip the dress over it. I look in the mirror and decide my outfit needs a little something extra. I rummage through my closet and pick out a black leather belt with silver studs, and I pull it around my waist to cinch the dress in a little. I grab my black chunky doc martens and lace them up. Tying my hair into a messy bun and deciding against makeup, I grab my keys and throw my phone in my purse and leave the apartment to head toward work.
