I open my eyes and the first thing I see
Is the sun shining through my window at me
Im determined today to have a good day
Bad things may come but I know I'll be okay
I have been given more than I could ever ask for
Food when Im hungry, meds when Im sore
Love in abundance, hugs a plenty
Ive been given gifts of grace & beauty
Intelligence and reason, bravery & heart
And blessed with talent in writing and art
Though some things are inevitable such as sadness and fear
It will be love that I feel, & love that I hear
