Chapter V

“You love him don’t you?” Logan asked me.

“What?!!” I asked distractedly.

He looked at me and smiled sadly. “For the last couple of days I was trying to make you forget him. But I can see now that I cannot win. You’ve change a lot. And I think, I left you too long. I don’t blame you if you found someone else…”

“What are you talking about? I love you. I’ve loved you since we were little. I promise I’ll wait for you and I did.”

He continued as if he hadn’t heard me, “…he came up to me the other day. He loves you too much that he’s ready to give you up. Because that’s what he thought would make you happy… and now I’m going to do the same. I know you love me but not as much as I wanted you too. There’s someone else in your heart.”

I stared at him in disbelief. Couldn’t be. But as I look into Logan’s eyes I know he’s telling the truth. I was in denial for so long, and it took Logan’s words to open my eyes and heart. I love Rob.

A single tear slip from my eye as I whispered brokenly, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

“I know,” he held me in his arms for the longest moment. “As long as you are happy, angel. It doesn’t matter.”

Logan left. “He’s waiting,” was his last words before he kissed me goodbye. Those 2 words continue to echo in my ears as I drove back home. I was so preoccupied with my thought that I hadn’t realized that I was lost. I stopped and looked around, where am I?

And it all became familiar; I’m standing in front of Rob house. I didn’t know how I got there but it doesn’t matter. This is my chance, don’t blow it. But still I stood there not knowing what to do. My inner emotions are in turmoil, I don’t know how he’ll react when he sees me. And before I could stop myself, I rang the doorbell. I wanted to run in the sanctuary of my car and drove as fast as I could but I held my ground. I just stood there hoping for the best. Closed my eyes. Slowly the door opened, I looked up, and there he stood, Rob.
