Renee had been reading when it happened. It was something she very rarely did but enjoyed. She felt arms wrap around her, resting gently by her shoulders.
"Renee!"
The woman laughed, smiling. She set her book down and kissed one of the hands.
"Hello, Natalie."
Natalie removed her arms and sat next to Renee, smiling. Renee noticed that the girl was wearing a light blue sweater and orange pants. What caught her eye was the deep purple flower crown sitting atop her head. Renee smiled and tilted her head to the side, curious.
"Where'd you get the flower crown, doll?"
Natalie giggled.
"AJ and Elliot found a flower field and brought some flowers back. Silvia taught me how to make one!"
Renee laughed.
"I'm glad. Better than him teaching you curse words."
Natalie laughed and sighed.
"Yeah... I-I made one for you too..."
Natalie leaded forward and placed a light blue flower crown on her head. Renee looked up, seeing a small amount of the petals. She looked back at Natalie and pulled her into her arms, planting small kisses all over her.
"I love it."
Natalie beamed, glad she made Renee smile.
"I'm glad."
The rest of the afternoon, Renee read while Natalie made more flower crowns.
