"Zerriah, talk to me! You can't just leave everyone behind like this!" a manly voice said as I stood there lost in my thoughts.

I heard footsteps rush towards me screaming my name but all of a sudden,

It all turned black.

"Good Morning!!"
I walked into Coffee'd, the coffee shop I worked at, smiling. I don't know what made me feel so happy that day, I just felt like it.

I'm weird, I know.

Maria, my co-worker just rolled her eyes and said, "Good Morning to you too, you're late."

I chuckled and slapped her a little bit on her back and said,
"Well isn't someone being a downer today? Lighten up! Smileeee!"

She rolled her eyes again. I swear they're gonna stay there forever one day.

She went off to the side to prep for the day that awaits us. It is Friday after all, and we're located in a rather buisness packed area.

"I'M HERE!! ZERRIAH GET MY APRON!!!"

As I looked back, I saw my other co-worker sprinting through the door, hair all in a mess.

"Gosh Raine, we still have five minutes before we open!" I giggled.

It always found it funny how clumsy and crazy she is.

It was the three or us, Maria, Raine and I working for this coffee shop. Maria and Raine are the Baristas and I take the orders.

I know being a cashier for some basic coffee shop isn't an ideal job but I'll have to do for now.

My brother Lucas needs me.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the bell that would ring everytime someone walked in.

My day went by smoothly, even when an old lady made my braincells die when they asked if we served Pudding.

Pudding? What?? Wouldn't we be called "Pudding'ed" instead?!

I was bored and playing with my hair while the old lady and Maria were arguing about how bad of an establishment was "Coffee'd" because we didn't serve pudding.

I gotta admit the name is questionable but I can't do anything 'bout it.

Anyways, my mind was wandering in space and I decided to scan the room. It was crowded but quiet, it was nice to watch.

wait- no! I don't people watch that's just weird like haha, who even does that??

"Excuse me, can I take my order?"

"H-Huh? What??"

I looked at him, and my eyes just widened.

He was wearing a black coat with grey pants, his hair slicked with gel. His aura just screamed 'buissness man' and I just stood there like a fool.

"I know I'm very handsome, but maybe you should stop staring." he smirked.

"W-what? N-No!!" I said in a panic, "SIR, MAY I TAKE YOUR ORDER!?"

The whole shop then looked at me like I was crazy, then they went back to what they were doing.

"Ehem." I cleared my throat, "May I take your order?"

"A tall decaf cafe espresso frappucino, triple shot."

"Your name, Sir?"

"Now you're asking for my name, soon you're going to be asking for my number-" He looked down at my name tag."-Zerriah."

"Sir this is a standard procedure, and I don't know if you're blind or not but you're holding up the line." I replied.

"It's Ryder, but just for you, you can call me Babe." he winked.

I rolled my eyes. Alright, he's cute but he's pushing me to my limits. He's annoying, cutishly annoying.

"Take a seat, your order will arrive shortly" I sighed.

He got his order a few minutes later and he finally stopped bothering me.

It was getting late and customers started coming in slower, I decided to start cleaning.

Ryder was still busy working on his laptop, he was here for the whole afternoon.

"Zerriah! Maria! I have to go! Gotta catch my date for tonight" Raine blurted out while packing up her things.

"What are you talking about? We close at 9! It's like 7!" I said in a shock. Besides, I had to hurry to the hospital today..

"Come on Zerriah, cover for me! I loveeee youuuu!" She went out and the door shut.

Well, I guess I'm stuck here.

I looked around and then my gaze fell on Ryder. His hair was in a mess by now and he looked frustrated. I was busy staring at him, then Maria tapped on my shoulder.

"Hey, your phone's ringing."

What? No, nobody usually calls me.. Only Lucas' doctor-

I gasped in realisation and I ran to the staff room. It was indeed Lucas' doctor. I picked it up.

"Ms. Del Rosario?"

"Yes! Did something happen to my brother how is he?! Is he alright?"

My mind flooded with emotions and I took off my apron, got my handbag and rushed to the exit.

Please be alright, Lucas.
