There she was, the beautiful, silver-haired witch. Her wispy hair flew into her face as she danced around the pond where she hung out nearby Ryder's secure hiding place. Sometimes Ryder wished she was a witch with her. "Stay away from witches," her father's voice echoed inside her head. "they are trouble, make sure you stay away from them." But Ryder wanted to know for sure, she hoped her father's words were lies and that witches weren't as bad as her parents pictured them. What if Vampires, her own kind, would be the true bad guys? Would they try to make their offspring have this cruel image in their minds that witches would torture and kill, but the witches have done nothing more than revealing their magical abilities to human and vampire kind? She was confused, on one hand, she didn't want to disappoint her strict, cold-hearted father but on the other hand, she wanted to explore the world and know for sure if witches were terrible beings. She sighed and left the pond, venturing back to the Dreamhouse.

"Where were you?" asked a very worried Arya, her eyes narrowed, her eyebrows raised. "we've been so worried! Don't tell me you have been looking at that witch again!"
"No mum, I was just.. Uh... Traveling!" Ryder assured her.
Arya sensed the untruthfulness in her voice but didn't say anything about it.
"What you say I suppose."
While Arya was distracted with preparing plasma packs, Ryder took to this opportunity at once. She rapidly rushed towards her room and locked the door behind her, making sure that her parents couldn't come in and see what she was doing. She went through every book about witches, but couldn't find anything useful. Finally, she gave up and groaned. If I can't find information on witches in books, I'll have to find the witches myself, she thought. Well that was going to be a challenge, maybe.

Glimmerbrook, she thought to herself, Glimmerbrook is where most witches live. At least one thing was useful from a book. At least one thing. She searched and searched for books about the world, and after minutes that felt like days, she finally found a book. 16 worlds and where to find them. She finally found what she looked for. Glimmerbrook, page 16.
A magically beautiful and charming world, its kind-hearted locals and its residents quickly became known as the healers of the people, due to their strange abilities that nobody knows about, even today. Centuries after centuries, Glimmerbrook is still a favourite tourist location for people across all worlds. But the vivid portal in the corner of the world is a favourite location to travel. Some say that the portal holds a world of mystery.

A portal? She thought, a portal.. That was their secret, a portal. Some say the portal holds a world of mystery.. That's what they were hiding! It was near the pond, Ryder's hiding place. Near where the silver-haired witch was... Ryder was excited, far too excited, she waited until nightfall to travel, since she wouldn't burn to death in the sun and make it obvious that she was a vampire. The witches might say the same thing about us as we do about them, she thought. So she knew that it was good to go undercover.

She sneaked out of the Dreamhouse's back door and immediately set off for Glimmerbrook. The silver-haired witch's home.. The fact that she dropped nearby Willow Creek almost shocked her but thought that she would keep undercover just like Ryder. She thought that she might put her life in danger. She thought that she might put her family's life in danger. But it was worth it.

"Oh hello Ryder!" said an old voice pleasantly. "my great-niece won't be endangered, she knows her stuff." Ryder backed away from the pink-eyed man standing before her. "Who are you?" she demanded. No sound. "Who are you?" she repeated. But the figure disappeared, forever out of sight.
