The bell rings and the students are a little happier. They are a little louder in the hallways. They smile a little more.

It's time for the first round of extra curricular classes. That means the Drama kids all get to go to their acting classes, their stage make up classes, their History of Shakespeare and Classical Literature classes. The best part of the day. They leave all the "important subjects" and the stress that comes along with them.

Tyler walks with his best friends Connor and Finn to Theatre Arts Class in the Theatre Department. Tyler loves this class.

"I just don't understand why she won't let me kiss her." Finn huffs. He continues to rant and Connor looks at Tyler and raises his eyebrows, Tyler rolls his eyes.

"We can't help you, cause ya' know..." Connor trails off. He still isn't 100 percent confident about his sexuality.

"And we've both been single, like since forever." Tyler readjusts his shoulder strap as they continue to walk down the hall. They are nearing the spot where the hall splits, one side is the Music Department, the other side is the Drama Department. Jack Harries, Finn's twin, walks towards the three, on his right is Lily, aka Superwoman.

She looks the three up and down, then scoffs, she says something to Jack who looks up. He rolls his eyes.

As the pass, Lily knocks her shoulder into Finn, and mutters, "Traitor."

Finn sighs and Connor starts to console him but Finn cuts him off, "It's fine, I don't even care." He walks ahead of Connor and Tyler. Finn usually gets crap from the Music Department about him being a traitor. Jack and Finn were originally both in the Music Department until Finn decided he wanted to be an actor, not a musician. The Drama Department was glad to accept him into their inner circles. Well, mostly because Tyler immediately accepted him. Without Tyler's approval Finn would've become an outcast.

"I'm concerned about him. He is usually planning his next big prank." Connor frowns, his eyes following Finn's figure as he walks down the hallway.

"Yea, and trying to rope us in to it." Tyler tacks on.

"But lately he is so down, do you think something happened at home?"

"I don't know and it's not really any of our business." Tyler shrugs, the readjusts his backpack straps again.

"So there is a rumor that our resident Drama Club President will be trying out for the lead role in our Fall play." Mr. Laughing says. His real name is Mr. McLaughlin, but the drama kids all call him Mr. Laughing or Rhett. He is a very laid back teacher.

His comment gets the attention of about half the people, the rest are hanging out with their friends, doing homework, eating snacks, not paying attention.

"Mr. Laughing, please, you are embarrassing me." Tyler says as he walks to the podium in the from of the classroom the after school drama club uses for it's meetings.

"You, embarrassed? I doubt it." Mr. Laughing says.

"Ok, ok, you're right. I am going to be auditioning for the lead role in The Cause of Dawn." Tyler says, no one in the drama club is surprised.

"Who is going to play Allison?" Dan shouts from the back.

"Don't you have to kiss her? Doesn't that go against, like, some unspoken gay rule or something." Someone else chips in.

"Just because I am a flaming homosexual, doesn't mean I can't act like I like kissing a girl. That's why it's called acting folks." Tyler lets the comments and questions, as always, roll right off his back.

"Anyway, auditions will be held next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I need the secretaries to make up some poster and put them up around school. Anyway, Mr. President, do your duties." Mr. Laughing interjects before the meeting strays far off course.

"Ha! He said duties," Tyler chuckles and a few people giggle, Mr. Laughing rolls his eyes, "he's right though. I call this meeting to order." Everyone finally settles down and starts paying attention. When Tyler feels as if he has everyone's full attention he officially starts the meeting.

"No, but I feel that this year we should do circle on stage before the shows." Dan crosses his arms.

"Well, not everyone can make it, like the stagehands are usually doing something, like moving set pieces." Caspar argues.

"The set should already be set up, from the previous night. That's how the theater works." Dan sits back down.

"Well we are doing things that make your lives a lot easier." Caspar sits down as well.

"I understand where both of you are coming from, but Caspar is right. We do circle when everyone can, if that means two minutes before show time backstage whispering, that means two minutes before show time backstage whispering. I really do wish we could have circle on the stage with everyone in the cast and crew before each show, but that's just not how it works out sometimes. Doing it on stage would be really cool, but this has to work out for everyone." Tyler tries to soothe both sides of the argument by proposing a compromise, "How about this; we just do circle on the stage before the last show with everyone?"

A hand is raised and so are a few others. Tyler picks a person randomly, "Yes, Alfie?"

"I motion to put this compromise into effect." Alfie says. A few people murmur in agreement and a few more hands shoot up.

"Jim?"

"I second the motion to put the compromise into effect." Jim says. Tyler nods and turns to Mr. Laughing who nods as well.

"Ok, we are going to take a vote on my compromise. You know how this works, if you want circle to stay the same say nay, if you wish my compromise to be put into effect say yay, and lastly if you wish to say neutral say I obstain. Ok?" People nods their heads and so Tyler turns to his list, "Alfie Deyes?"

"Yay."

"Tanya Burr?"

"Yay."

-

"Well after a very close vote, and myself and Mr. Laughing tallied up the votes we have come to a thrilling conclusion. We will be doing circle on stage before every last show." A few people cheer as Tyler finishes, "Also, it's time for us to go. So I hereby adjourn this meeting."
