True love (unused chapter)

Nezuko's POV

We got home at 9:15 pm, it's late, but at least we don't have to worry about any demons anymore. I was happy to see Zenitsu was still alive, in fact, he looked happy. I guess my plan worked, I don't want my friends to fight all the time, it's not right. I went to the kitchen to put away the food as Tanjiro went to check on Zenitsu, I think he was concerned about how calm he was after spending hours with him home alone.

I left out a couple ingredients to prepare a quick dinner, I was cooking tonight, Tanjiro was too tired from all the walking. I'm ok with doing this, I got too distracted looking at different decorations at the market anyways so this is fair, hehe. After five minutes Tanjiro entered the kitchen. 

"How's Zenitsu?" I asked

"I don't know, he was oddly happy but he wouldn't tell me why..."

"That's weird"

"Yeah. Nezuko, can I cook dinner tonight pleaseeee, I've been wanting to make this recipe for a long time!" My brother begged me

"No, onii-chan, you're too tired, let me do it!" 

"Nezuko..."

"Yes, yes, and yes. Now go rest until dinner is ready."  I demanded

"Fine... But only tonight!"

"Hehe, of course!"

Once Tanjiro left to his room, Zenitsu came running towards me.

"Nezuko-chan! I have news!" He said whispering in a loud manner 

"Ooh, why the whispering? Is it a secret?~" I teased 

"Sorta, but it has to do with Inosuke's feelings. Can we talk outside?"

"I have to make dinner, but this sounds interesting, sure, let's go"

We went outside and closed the door behind us, I was eager to know what this was all about. It must be something good since he doesn't seem sad, but I'm still confused. 

"First," he started, "does Tanjiro have a crush on anyone?"

"..." It took  me a second to analyse this question, then something clicked in my mind.

"Omg, omg, omg, does Inosuke like Tanjiro!?" I whispered loudly, trying to hold in my urge to scream.

"Th-that's all I had to say for you to know what this conversation is gonna be about?" He laughed

I rolled on the ground, putting both of my hands on my mouth and clenching my eyes. I was so happy for Tanjiro! Inosuke liked him back! He can have those feelings towards people, and even better, towards Tanjiro! I want them to date right here right now, but that's not possible at the moment. I just learned this information, it's going to be at least a couple day till I can tell Tanjiro.

 Tanjiro is a shy guy, but I'm sure he'll want to start a relationship with his long-time crush in the blink of an eye if he likes him back. I don't want him to confess to Inosuke yet, I want to watch him for a bit before then. I know it sounds creepy, but what I mean is I want to see him interact with Tanjiro and see if he is ready for a relationship. I'm sure he hasn't been in one before, so I want both of them to be prepared. When I was somewhat calm again, I spoke.

"I'm so exited, Tanjiro also likes Inosuke!"

"Really? that great! I did notice him staring at Inosuke once in a while, but that's about it, he is really good about hiding it surprisingly. " Zenitsu replied

"I can't wait for them to be together, but I can't tell Tanjiro this yet. I want to watch Inosuke for a few days when he interacts with my brother, I might be able to tell if he is really for a relationship. I don't him to start something he's not ready for."

"I understand. You're so nice, Nezuko-chan!" 

My cheeks turned into a light pink. No one knows this but, I have a crush on Zenitsu. It is obvious he likes me back and all, but actually, I'm not sure. When we are with Tanjiro and Inosuke he acts more like he has a crush on me, but when we are alone, he acts more like a friend. I'm not sure if I want to confess, but I'm sure the time will come, for me and my onii-chan.

"Anyways, do you need help with dinner?" I didn't realize I spaced out

"Oh, no, don't worry about it, I'm fine!" I reassured him

"Well, if you need anything I'm here, ya know?~"

Ok I lied a little, he is actually more flirty when we are alone. I'm not complaining.

Inosuke's POV

Since Monitsu taught me what blushing was I've been in my room. After looking back at my times with Kamaboko, I have bushed before, I just didn't realize it, in fact, I'd ignore it. If I felt it, I'd just put on my mask and continue with whatever I'm doing. Although it's hard to ignore, I do it. Crush, huh? I learned a lot today, i don't know how to feel about it. I have a crush on Tanjiro? I love him? Is that how I'm supposed to use those words? Aaah, everything is too much, all I wanna do right now is talk to Tanjiro, is this a love side effect?

I got up from my bed and left my room. I walked towards Gonpachiro's and entered it. He was sleeping again, just like last time I was here, and he has that exact same expression on his face. How is he always happy? I laid down next to him, our bodies almost touching. He was laying on his side, so he was facing me. I took off my boar mask so I could see his face clearly. He looked so calm, so carefree, and his skin looks clear and smooth, it's hard not to touch. If I do it, he will wake him up. I can't hold myself back, I'm sorry, Kentaro. I pocked his left cheek softly and giggled at my actions. I could see a smile grow on his lips which scared me a bit. Is he awake? 

"Mmm... Inosuke..." He whispered

"Huh?..." Is he talking in his sleep or is he awake?

I kept touching him as gently as I could, moving my hand from his cheeks to his chin. I couldn't get enough from the feeling, I felt my face get hot and started feeling a little drowsy.

"Tanjiro..."

Tanjiro's POV

I woke half asleep, but as soon as I looked at the time I sure was fully awake. It was 3 am. Why didn't Nezuko wake me up for dinner!? I was starving, but I didn't know whether I should go eat or not, I could make too much noise and wake up the others. As I gained more consciousness, I realized the right side of my bed felt heavier. I looked to see what it was. It was Inosuke. He... was in my room!? What is he doing here!? No, Tanjiro, this is all your imagination... right?

Imagination or not, Inosuke was sleeping on my bed and the thought itself made me heat up. I decided to touch him to find out if he was real or not. I shook his shoulder a bit, which was a bad move, I was trying to find out if this was my imagination or not, not wake him up. turns out it really was Inosuke, but what was he doing in my room? Did something happen?

"T-Tanjiro..." Inosuke whined

"I-Inosuke, um, s-sorry I woke you up!" 

"Huh?... OH SHIT!" He blurted 

"Oh, goddammit, I fell asleep- I-"

"It's ok, don't worry," I gave him a reassuring smile, "but why were you in my room? Did you need something?"
