Long Walk

I agreed to walk the boy home, nothing more and nothing less, he didn't say much, he just told me to follow him. I picked up my bag and we then started our long walk. Now, the small boy had a shit bowl cut like I said before and his clothes were ripped, kinda, he didn't seem to have any injuries so I asumed he was ok.

"Hey, Stanton?" The boy asks, I look at him and smiled slightly, nodding. "Um, do you live in that?" He asked, pointing at the shack that wasn't far behind. "No, I just found it today." I told him, he looks at me with shocked filled eyes.

"You, you ran away?"

I nodded, looking at the ground, the boy stopped in his tracks, causeing me to stop as well. "Why would you?" He asked, I didn't want to answer him so I just shook my head and continued walking, the boy quickly caught up with me. "I think I need to know what happened." I said, the boy looked at me, all confused, causeing me to slightly giggle. "Why are you out here by yourself?" I ask, he nervously giggles before speaking. "Well, my friend and I were playing D&D together and like most friends do we got in a fight, a fight about..." He trailed off, he looked like he was in thought so I let him be. "We got into a fight about if it's ok to like men..." He finished quietly, I look at him and it looked like he was tearing up. "But why?" I ask, he sniffles. "Because I'm a fairy..." The boy wishpers. "Well, if it makes you feel better, I'm a fairy too." I admit, the boy looks up at me and smiles, I smile back. "Will." The boy says, I look at him, confused written all over my face. "I'm Will, short for William." The boy, no, Will says, I nod and the walk goes back to silence.

Me and Will have been walking for about 2 hours now, we talked about almost everything, not everything but everthing that you need to know before you make memories with the person. Just then I heard Will scream, he jumped behind me, I look to were he was standing before and there was a snake, like, a small snake but from what I read about it it's bite can be painful but will not cause death, unless you're weak or old. "Will, calm down, just don't piss it off and you'll be fine." I reasure him, he nods slowly, we carfuly walk by it, making sure not to destirbie the snake.

Will was humming a sweet song to himself, it wasn't a song I knew but I didn't question it, it was only 5 am I think, so I couldn't care less. I hear Will scream, but it wasn't a scared scream, more like a huppy scream. "Will, why are you screaming?!" I half scream, Will just stares me in the eye and points in front of us, there was a small cabin, pushed back into the woods. "Will?" I question, he starts running to the cabin and I run after him, I didn't know where I was and as much as I'd like to grab his wrist and tug him back, I might be hurting him and that's not what I want.

We run up three small steps and Will starts banging on the door non-stop, did I do anything? No, no I didn't, this is Will's choice, not mine. I was standing next to Will, waiting, until somebody opens the door. A man, an old man, maybe in his late fortys. "Will?" The man questions, Will nods, rapidy, the man looks at me and I wave slightly. "Who's this?" He questions. "Hopper meet Stanton, Stanton meet Hopper." Will introduces, Hopper smiles slightly and invites us inside, I wanted to say no but..it would be weird if I say no and run back into the woods so I accepted. It was a small cabin, nice and clean but just a bit of mess. "Jane!" Hopper screamed. A little girl, maybe, Will's age, came out of a room which I assume is her bedroom, Jane noticed Will and ran up to him, giving him a tight hug, I smile slightly, Will pushes her off joking manner.

She stares at me and it was quite uncomfetable to say the lest, she points at me and turns her attion to Will, Will nods and her stight is set back on me, dropping her hand to her side. "Hi, I'm Jane but my friends call me El." She greeted, waving, I wave back. "Stanton's the name." God, did I just use a Richie line, oh gods. Jane starts giggling. "So Stanton, where you from?" Hopper asks, I freeze, Will looks at me with a sorry look and pulls Hopper aside. Jane gestures to the couch and I shake my head and leen against an empty wall. Jane runs back to the confinments of her room and shuts the door behind her.

After what felt like hours, Hopper and Will came out of the room they were in before. Will came next to me and wishpered. "We need to talk." He said, pulling me outside the cabin. Will shut the door behind us. "So, what's up?" I ask. Will took in a deep breath before speaking. "Why did you run away?" Will asks.

He's useing that card now, if I wanted to tell you I would, like come on, why would you ask somebody that?! Well, I did ask somebody that before but that's because we were bestfriends, Will is somebody I met in the woods, I don't even know if we're friends or not. "Hey look, I don't need to know but Hopper does, he's a cop." Will resures me, wow, just wow, I'm friends with a cop who could take me back home in Derry, that's amazing, worst thing is- "-if I tell him then they'd send me back to my perants and god knows I don't want that to happen.." I think outloud sometimes and I'm not happy 'bout this. "What?!"
