Hey y'all, Author-Chan here. Sorry for not updating ;-; I don't really have an excuse for you, but, I decided to write something up real quick to hopefully satisfy some of your needs. It's pretty short, and I apologize for that, but hey, it's better then nothing! Also, it's not edited, it's 1 AM here, and I should really get to bed. But, realistically speaking here, that's not happening anytime soon. Insomnia, yay! But uh, here you go. I will make sure to update more often. And don't be afraid to request something!

"CJ, I'm moving."
CJ didn't know that three words could make his whole life come crashing down. But as he looked at his best friend in shock, he could see that Flick wasn't joking. His indigo eyes were downcast and dull, not meeting CJ's gaze. His marsh green scales didn't shine like they normally did. Tears were pooling in CJ's eyes as he enveloped his friend into a hug. CJ hugged him tightly, feeling that if he let go, Flick would disappear.
"W-Why?" The beaver choked out, reluctantly letting go of Flick. Indigo eyes clashed with watery blue.
"Pop's going on an expedition. Wants to find new bugs. It'll last about three years, apparently. I'll be going to school in a nearby town." Flick sighed, shoulders slumping. "But hey, maybe when I come back, we'll meet again in high school?" He said hopefully, a small smile gracing his face. CJ's eyes softened and a weak smile appeared.
"Yeah... I would like that."
————————————————
CJ had been waiting three years. Three years of waiting for Flick to come back. It had already been several months into the school year, and CJ had begun to give up hope.
"CJ! CJ!" Someone exclaimed, catching up to him. CJ mentally groaned, closing his eyes briefly as to not scream in anger. That was Diva, the most shallow and fake student in school. (Sorry if you like her...) She was a short purple frog who over lined her lips way too much, and couldn't do good makeup to save her life. She bullied others for not being perfect. She was constantly hitting on him, even though the two have hardly talked. She only liked him because he was handsome, popular, and the captain of the swim team. She also wasn't the brightest frog in existence, considering she hadn't realized he was gay. Sure, he didn't go parading around school in pride merch, but it was still pretty obvious.
Nevertheless, the boy was too kind to interrupt Diva and make her leave. So she chartered into his ear for several minutes, gossiping and talking bad about others. CJ hated every second of it. If there was anything CJ hated, it was bullies. Why? He had never been bullied, no, but his best friend had. Flick had dealt with many bullies. More bullies than any twelve year old should deal with. Others bullied him for liking bright colors and art, although CJ thought it was cool. This was one of the reasons CJ didn't sleep at night. A few days before a Flick announced he was leaving, he came out as genderfluid. CJ couldn't imagine the amount of bullying Flick might get for just being him. Why didn't he just ask over text, you might ask. Flick was headed to a jungle area, where there wasn't much space for power lines or anything of the sort. Flick wouldn't have any service, and thus couldn't contact CJ.
Eventually, Diva walked away, leaving CJ alone once again. He walked outside, happy to be out of the cramped hallways that made him claustrophobic. He walked around to the back of the school, towards his favorite place to go. It was a small garden with many types of flowers, which were currently in bloom. As CJ rounded the corner to see the garden, he was greeted by an interesting sight.
A reddish-pink chameleon was looking very closely at one of the flowers. Or, more specifically, a bug on the flower. CJ couldn't see their eyes, but he could see a pencil and a notepad in their hands. They were wearing a leather jacket with the sleeves ripped off, and tight black and red pants. Piercings littered the spikes on their head. He began to walk forward, to ask who this was, when the chameleon in question turned around. CJ's mouth fell agape with shock. Piercing indigo eyes that were all too familiar. CJ could never forget those eyes. Those eyes held so many memories in them, and so many emotions.
