It had been a few days since Jonathan's home had gone up in flames, and Dio had died. Nikki mourned his death, swearing she would never find love again. That was until one fateful day.

Nikki had gone on a walk down an unfamiliar road, and she came across a large mansion, possibly the same size as Jonathan's. It had begun to rain not too long ago, so instead of going home she went inside. Closing the door behind her, Nikki left her coat on a nearby hanger. She rubbed her arms in an attempt to gather warmth, walking to the staircase that lay in front of her.

"Hello? Is anyone here? I hope you don't mind me letting myself in."

"Don't worry, I don't mind at all." Nikki gasped as she heard a voice. She wasn't expecting a reply, especially since the voice sounded deep and loud, coming from a male. It sounded somewhat familiar, and that was part of the reason why she was so surprised.

"Can you tell me; who are you? I'm sorry but you sound very familiar. Have we met?"

"Of course we have, love. We've known each other since we were 12 years old."

"Wait... Dio? Could it be? Please, let me see you!" As soon as she uttered those words, Dio stepped out from the darkness, the moon's light shining through the windows and illuminating his body. He looked very different, with a new wardrobe, longer hair and a more powerful posture. The very sight of him made Nikki shiver.

"You're alive..."

"Of course I am. The stone mask has made me immortal! Lucky for me that I didn't use it on Jojo like I had previously planned. But none the matter; you are what's important now."

"But I thought I didn't matter to you anymore." Dio made an expression that Nikki never thought she'd see him make. He looked hurt. He slowly took her hands in his, looking into her eyes.

"Oh darling, of course you matter! You've mattered to me for the past seven years! Can't you see that? Do you doubt my love for you?"

"No, of course not! I just thought... Nevermind. At least I know you still love me."

"Of course I do. Let me tell you this, my love for you is as immortal as I am. For as long as I live, it will never die. And that's why I have a proposal for you." Dio reached into his large pocket, pulling out the very mask he used to turn himself into a vampire. "I want to use the mask on you. To turn you so we can be together forever."

"Dio, I-"

"I know. This is very heavy and sudden for you. Which is why I am willing to wait for as long as you need. I won't force you into this, and I just want you to know that I will respect whatever decision you make. As long as we're together, that's all that matters."

"Dio..." Nikki stared at the mask, her grip on Dio's hands tightening, almost as much as the lump in her throat. "I'm not sure..."

"That's completely fine. You can take your time, and I'll still treat you the same. If you decide not to turn, I'll still love you all the same. You can make sure of that."

She thought about it for some time. If she turns into a vampire, she could never see the light of day ever again. But if she doesn't, nothing will change. The only con is aging and not being with Dio forever. FInally, she swallowed, getting rid of the lump preventing her from speaking.

"Alright. I'll do it." "Are you sure?" "Yes. I want to do this."

"Alright then. I need you to stay still. This might hurt a bit."
