Flash back: GYM TIME
"OK !! Take your positions ... remember, once you're hit, you're out of the game" Ms Humphrey said and quickly blew the whistle, indicating the start of the game.
I don't know why, but my heart was pounding so loudly that it might break out of my chest. The nervousness i felt came from practicing spells, not from gym class. Ok, I do admit that I'm a little nervous of being hit straight to my face and completely smacking hard on the cold ground but as long as I have Elizabeth and my powers by my side---I have nothing to worry about......

A guy suddenly threw a ball so forcefully. It quickly rushed toward me and I quickly evaded it. Smirking at my success I looked toward Elizabeth who effortlessly looked like she was dancing while she was avoiding to be hit by those dodge balls. I always admired her skills in many different ways. The other girls purposely let the opposite team hit them so they'll sit on the bleachers along with the other people who were out of the game. At the corner of my eye, another ball came rushing toward me. I deliberately hit the ball real hard with my forearm. Resulting the ball to painfully strike one guy straight to his face and sent him falling down onto the ground. He was one of those idiotic guys who thought that they could beat us. Well, I guess he was proved wrong.
Since most of the girls were already eliminated from our team, a few--including me and Elizabeth--are the only ones left. I'm not doubting my skills or anything but when you're against guys who are in to athletic stuff--magic is something that i definitely need right now. I quickly cast a spell in my mind and everything around me suddenly froze. I needed some time to think so i obviously and magically froze time, but it can only last for a moment. I smirked at the looks of the everybody else in their frozen positions. It was hilarious with all their different looks and poses.
The spell i need is something that involves strength so I first need to find someone. I quickly walked towards a guy from the opposite team who looked like he was the athletic type. I racked my brain for a spell and quickly picked one that would work just fine. I simply touched his bare shoulder and said an enchantment in my head. I felt a rush of heat run through my veins, and it felt great. I let go of his shoulder, ran back to my original position and snapped my fingers. As expected, everything was back to normal. Adrenaline quickly rushed through my veins and I felt 'my skills' quickly trigger. I kicked the dodgeball upward and quickly caught it with my hand. I ran to accelerate my speed a bit--with the ball in my hand, i let my arm release a huge amount of force as much as i can. I cast another spell in mind. The ball quickly hit one guy then bounced towards another then Elizabeth kicked it so hard that it hit another one. It kept going like that until everyone else was eliminated, except for Elizabeth and I. The others were painfully groaning on the mat. I snapped again my fingers and 'my skills' returned rightfully returned to it's owner, the guy seemed fine when i returned his athletic ability. I smacked a high five to my best friend and the girls quickly formed into a cheery mob, carrying Elizabeth and I. While they chanted "Hooorays" and "WOOTs!" and other praises. It made the guys sulk in shame.
"My! My! What a very impressive display!" Coach Humphrey praised as she ran towards us
"Thanks coach" Elizabeth said proudly
"Yep, it was no big deal" I said, feeling both guilty and proud inside
"Seriously! That was, like... beyond awesome!!!" Nina Andrews suddenly said. She was one of those girls who are both good-looking and the brainy type.
"I agree!" the other girls joined in on the conversation.
I walked towards the bleachers to get my stuff and i noticed someone sitting next to my bag. I remembered that he was one of the guys who played dodgeball from the opposite team. I reached my bag and unzipped it to grab a small hand towel.
"Hey" he said
"Hey yourself" I replied and used the towel to wipe the sweat off my forehead.
"Nice work out there. I was sort of expecting that we would lose, especially the fact that us boys don't have enough team effort"
I raised my eyebrow at him. A guy? admitting defeat? To a girl? No way... Especially when this guy is obviously a spitting image of a celebrity. Medium built body, strong arms, green eyes, dazzling smile, ebony black hair and a face that seems friendly.
"Is that so? hmm. You guys still played great, Just not as great as we did" I said boastfully
"By great you mean.. you and that other girl over there." he said
"Her name's Elizabeth" i pointed out
"Sorry" He let out a chuckle that surprisingly made me smile "I'm not good with names"
Coach Humphrey suddenly blew her whistle so loud that it made me jump.
"Ok!! Everyone!! Hit the showers and I'll see you all for our next PE class!!!" she announced
"Not to be mean and all... but I gotta hit the showers" I said, giving him a smile
"Oh sure, I gotta go too.." he replied, looking a bit disappointed
"Well, see you" I grabbed my bag and headed out to join the others girls
"Wait!" he suddenly said. I stopped and turned around while he walked towards me. My eyebrows mashed together in confusion.
"I'm sorry. I just...." he tried to say, because some of his words were tripping. "I didn't catch your name" he scratched his head, maybe from nervousness.
"I dunno.." I said "If I tell you then you might forget" I smirked
He let out a boisterous laugh that made me join along.
"Come on girl !!" Elizabeth suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me along out the gym just before she passed.
"My name's Selena!" I shouted for him to hear
"Well mine's Logan!" he shouted back "Nice to meet you!'
I would have replied but unfortunately the double doors of the gym suddenly closed as soon as Elizabeth and I were outside. She was walking so fast while she grabbed on to me the whole way to the girl's shower and locker room. I couldn't get the smile of my face. I felt so flushed and red right now, that other people might notice. But i didn't care if I smiled like an idiot all the way to the showers.
