My star
There're countless stars in a galaxy,
And too many galaxies to count.
Of those beyond our Milky Way,
It's hard to determine the amount.
The Sun is the closest star to Earth,
Although very large it may not be,
So it is the biggest and brightest
To this world's population and me.
And though there is so much to learn
From millions of stars in the night sky,
The best one to study is our Sun
On whose energy we all rely.
By looking at sunspots and solar flares,
We know the star's activities.
Radiation and coronal mass ejections
Illustrate our vulnerability.
The Sun may not be very special
To exoplanets across the Universe,
But it's the heart of the Solar System
In which Earth and others are immersed.
So you may be a regular person,
Not more special than many by far,
But in my eyes you're the greatest-
My valentine, you are my star.
