The animal shelter door opened; three people walked in. A kid and two adults.
"We're looking to adopt a dog." the man said.
"Right this way" the attendant said.
Yes! I might get adopted! I thought. The attendant led the family past all the cages of dogs.
"That one!" the kid said excitedly.
"Tony?" the attendant asked looking puzzled.
Me! He meant me! I thought heart pounding with excitement.
"If his name is Tony, then yes." the woman said.
"Okay then,"
My cage door opened, I padded out.
