I received a request a while back through tumblr asking if I'd write an alternate ending to part 1. My focus has/was on finishing this but now that I'm done, I ruminating on it.
What if Ivar and Æthelswith's relationship and intimacy started in the camp? What if Alfred was successful that day on the battle field taking her back and bringing her home? What if Ivar returned to Wessex years later to find her?
