thirty two

after thinking for a long time, chase realized that he actually felt pretty bad about breaking up with charli, did he miss her? yes, a lot. but he didn't want to go back to her.

he had been crying a lot, he was mainly just overwhelmed by everything that was going on, eventually he started blaming himself for everything, he started believing that maybe if he was straight none of this would happen.

he had to tell noen he liked him, or at least that he broke up with charli he just had to talk to him.

so, as he left the frat house with puffy eyes and a red nose while still crying, he made his way to his dorm.

he opened the door without knocking, it was also his dorm either way, there was no need to knock. he didn't wait to fully enter when he started talking.
"look noen i-" and then his breath hitched.

noen was there, laying on his bed with a girl in his arms, they were sleeping, cuddling. the girl was resting her head on his chest as noen lazily played with strands of her hair.

he felt his stomach twist, he was going to be sick. he felt tears once again form in his eyes. he thought noen said he didn't really like girls?

he blinked as fast as he could so tears wouldn't escape his watery eyes. noen looked up, he smiled at him softly, until he noticed the younger boy expression.

"chase what happened?" noen whispered, trying not to wake the girl on his arms.

"i'm sorry i didn't know you had company," chase said.

noen slipped from abby's arms that were holding onto his waist. she groaned slightly but quickly felt back asleep after that.

he stood up and walked to chase who was staring at the floor. "hey what's wrong?" noen touched the taller boy's arm.

chase flinched. "n-nothing, i'll leave you alone with your- her," he said as he walked away.

before he could leave noen grabbed his arm stopping him from moving. "she's just my friend,"

"you don't owe me any explanation noen," he said softly, tired from crying.

"no i know but she's not my g-"

"i broke up with charli," he cut noen off.

noen gasped, he opened his mouth to say something but closed it right back. what was he supposed to say?

"i'm sorry chase are you okay?"

chase laughed dryly. "not rea-" he was interrupted by a soft voice, the girl on the older boy's bed was up.

she smiled softly at the both of them and rubbed her eyes. chase forcefully smiled back.

"is everything okay?" he asked noen.

"yeah just-"

"i have to go, i'll see you later tonight," chase said to noen before walking off in a fast pace.

abby stared at noen with her eyebrows pulled together. he just shrugged in response.

"why did he even break up with her?" he thought.
