"Where is Cloud?" was the first question Rain asked when she woke up.
"He had to go to work, but he will come back soon," Mir lied as he could not say that Cloud was with her brother's wife, digging Rain's past.
"Can I go back home? I am fine now."
Mir shook his head. "I want you to complete a few more test while you are already here," he said while checking her results, "do you know that you have anemia?"
Rain nodded, "it happened after the accident."
Mir frowned, "then why didn't you tell Cloud? If he knew he wouldn't force you for physical activities like running," he blurted out before noticing what he said.
Being sharp as usual, Rain did not fail to catch it. "So Cloud really tells you everything," she said while folding her arms as if she was getting ready to scold Mir.
Mir hit his head with the file he was holding, "we...we just..." he stuttered as there was no excuse he could offer.
"you just talk," she finished the sentence for him, then started to laugh, startling Mir. "I was kidding, don't worry. I already knew you guys are very close."
Luckily for him, he was saved by Gray who came to keep company to Rain. Mir patted Gray's back, murmuring something about having so much work and left the 'interrogation' room quickly.
"It is a shame, I missed my prey because of you," Rain said smiling, "you must be Gray."
Gray appalled for a second, but he was better than Mir to adapt the game. "Do you want to be a police officer? You look damn right for the job," he said teasingly.
"When can I start?" Rain offered a handshake, "I am Rain and I guess you are here because Cloud wanted you to be my jail keeper until he comes back, am I right?"
Gray firmly accepted the handshake, "out of two, you scored two! But let's say Cloud wanted me to keep you company not to be your jail keeper."
"Deal," she said while getting out of the bed, "being a good host, I will get us coffee."
Looking behind her disappeared figure, Gray murmured; wow, she is a whole new person, Sun 2.0.
When Rain came back with two cups of coffee, the duo sat on the sofa, chatting randomly. However, after a while, Rain asked a question which changed everything.
"Did you find the culprit who broke into my flat?"
"What break into? When?" Gray asked innocently as he had no idea what she was talking about.
Rain also saw his reaction which made her frown a bit. She still remembered Cloud saying he was going to call a police friend when her flat was broken into and Gray was his only friend who was a police officer as Cloud already told her so. If Cloud did not call Gray, whom he called? Rain decided that something fishy was going on.
"Rain?"
Gray's voice brought her back to reality. "Nothing important, don't worry," she tried to sound carefree, "did you find the man who is after me?"
"Ugh... the man, hmm, not yet... sorry," Gray mumbled while cursing Cloud inwardly for keeping things from them. He had no idea what what was going on and now understood why Mir escaped from Rain quickly. She was interrogating him damn good!
Rain squinted her eyes for a second before shrugging, "too bad, I am still scared to go out, you know," she said with an innocent look on her face.
Gray averted his eyes with his guilty conscience which gave Rain the answer she was looking for.
She stood up slowly with a fake smile, "I need to go to the toilet, the medicine you know."
Gray was still in a daze so he just nodded, failing to see Rain's intention as well as her hand holding her wallet. As soon as she was out of the room, Rain run to the exit, hailed a cap, earned a strange gaze from the driver for her hospital garment and went back to Cloud's flat as she knew he was keeping the key in the pot next to the door.
The moment she closed the door behind her, her strong demeanour cracked and she found herself sitting on the floor, crying her heart out. She did not want to believe that Cloud planned everything but the evidence was too strong. She wiped the tears from her face, she had no time to cry as she needed to pack and call a friend to pick her up. Cell phone? Maybe Cloud also lied about it. Maybe it was at home from the very beginning.
Rain stood up from the floor and went to Cloud's room. Searching through a few drawers, finally she found her cell phone as well as Cloud's notes underneath her cell phone. She sat down on Cloud's bed and started to read the notes. She already knew that they were reenacting the past so the first six days were not surprising but when she saw the seventh day, her grip on the pages tightened.
Sun did her calculations & the longest of our making love...
Rain tore the notes into pieces and threw them onto the floor angrily. Even making love was a part of his plan! She grabbed her phone and put some keywords into the search engine.
Sun. Thunder. Wright.
In a second, millions of results flooded on the screen. Clicking one after another, Rain learnt almost all of the information about herself. Gasping, she slumped the floor onto the torn notes, feeling torn as well. Apparently, she had a great life before and look at her now! The worst part was that Cloud knew all of it! He deliberately approached her, kidnapped her while making her thinking he was the hero! Everything he said and did was a lie! He never liked her, he was only after his revenge!
Rain wanted to storm at Cloud but he was not there, so she took floor as a substitute and punched it until her knuckles bled.
It was exactly that moment Cloud appeared in the room. After Gray understood that Rain was nowhere to be found, he called Cloud who had just left the cafe he talked with Kera Wright. He rushed to the hospital, the nearby park and finally the home with a fright in his heart. The third attempt proved itself right as he found Rain on the floor, her tears mixing the blood on her hands.
"Rain..."
"DON'T CALL MY NAME!" Rain snapped at him while rising to her feet.
"Are you hurt?" Cloud wanted came near her to check her hands as was genuinely worried.
Rain raised her hand and stopped him, "don't dare to approach me!"
"Can I just check your hands?" he asked very softly, "then I will do what you want."
She shot him a icy glare, "you are improvising, this scene wasn't in the notes." She started to gather her clothes from the wardrobe into the very boxes they carried from her flat.
"Listen to me first," he touched her arm gently but she pushed his hand.
"I know everything so don't bother!" She wiped her tears with her arms. She did not want to cry in front of him but she could not help.
"You only know the half, please let me explain," he took a step towards Rain but Rain threw him the cell phone she was holding. It hit his forehead before smashed on the floor and blood welled and trickled from his agitated face.
Seeing the blood, Rain's gaze changed from angry to worried for a second, but she recollected herself quickly. "I don't want to listen anything you say right now," she said while looking at the boxes on the floor before kicking them away from her, "I don't want anything you touched." She pushed him away and left the house only with her wallet.
Behind her, Cloud slumped to the bed devastated.
It is already your third leave but this one hurts the most...
