Time slowed down. Jake had no idea if Alan was being super fast by choice or by mistake. He was on the training grounds dressed in his red suit, his glasses forgotten. Jake sheathed his sword. Alan grabbed his wrist and holding his other hand up a Summoning Door appeared. He saw the difference now and understood what his dad meant by camouflaged. The Door wasn't bright white like the one he saw before, when they took his mom. It was like a shadow and it was quivering like the wind was too strong. Beyond the door was blackness. They looked at each other and hands together they stepped into the nothingness. Jake felt like he was falling, that exact feeling you have when you dream you are running and suddenly fall. His heart was beating hard in his throat. He looked to his left where his father was, but he saw nothing, such was the darkness. He felt it, his dad's hand on his wrist and the warmness he was spreading. Jake calmed down a little bit and opened his mouth to say something when all of a sudden there was blinding light. The earth surprised him, so when they landed he stumbled and fell down his knees.

He breathed greedily, it was like he was underwater until now. All his life, he knew nothing of this air, the freshness, the sweetness and the life it had. He opened his eyes. The sky was so blue and soft, he felt like he could touch it if he jumped high enough. Then, he saw his surroundings. His mother was in the center of this podium, 10 meters away from them. She was dressed in a black plain suit and had her hands behind her back, definitely tied. She was pale, but looked different, young, she barely had any wrinkles and was so beautiful. She held her head high, arrogance on her delicate features. If she was afraid, Jake couldn't see it or feel it.

On the podium's right was a big table, he saw immediately the huge chair the Leader had, it glowed yellow. Jake wandered if that was normal. In front of the podium were five dark blue suits, one of them Jake recognized as Kaleb. His father was still holding his hand, so Jake stood up. They were on the far left side, so no one saw when they appeared. After the shock were off a little bit more, Jake could hear the crowd, or to be fair he could hear the silence. No one said a word and there were a hundred people there. Dressed in suits or in weird clothing, something he never saw before. Some women had tears in their eyes, men with their hands fisted, but unable to do anything. Jake could feel it, he felt the angriness, unjustness, the sorrow, the ache everyone felt... He was so moved, it was like a concert, were everyone was singing the same lyrics, having the same vibe. 'Jake, you ok?' whispered Alan.

'Yea, I'm ok. Can you feel it?'

Alan looked around confused. 'What do you mean?'

'Dad, they are upset about this, their feelings, it's like they scream at me. I don't understand...You don't feel it?'

Alan looked around and then smiling he said 'Jake, this is your inheritance. This is what your parents left for you. You are one with your people. You feel when they suffer and when they celebrate.'

'Can he feel it too?' Jake gestured towards the man in the yellow chair.

'I think he shut it down' said Alan shrugging. 'Maybe he did a long time ago.'

Then the crowd went really silent and Jake looked where his mother was. He saw someone getting closer to her. He held something in his hand it looked like a very old book. 'What is that?' but his father was no longer there. Jake just saw his back as he was running towards the podium. Many things happened at the same time. People started noticing him and made room for him to pass. The five suits saw him next and Kaleb smiled at Alan, moving forward. They clashed. The earth shuddered when their fists met. The man with the book fell from the podium and ran. The other dark suits wanted to interfere, but were stopped by Jake. He put himself between them and his father. His sword drawn, Jake didn't feel afraid anymore. It was them or his loved ones, there was no comparison and he realized in that moment he would do anything for his parents. He read their chest inscription they were all N-. 'JAKE!' shouted June concerned.
