I then move on from Cooky and look at the next creature. The...cookie. I feel a wave of annoyance wash over me, as I remember its snarky attitude towards me earlier. A soft "hmph" comes out of me, and I fight to not glare at the alien.

The cookie must have noticed my expression because it suddenly showed an expression like it was offended. It crossed its tiny 'arms' and looked away from me, mimicking a snobby personality.

TATA looks at us both, before frowning. Seems like it knows we're not very fond of each other.

"Um, so. .this is Shooky!" TATA says, walking to the cookie's side. I try to acknowledge what he said without accidentally offending anyone else.

"I see." I make no attempt of forcing myself to sound happy.

After hearing my dry reply, the octopus smiles sheepishly and turns to face his friend. "Do you have anything to add, Shooky?" The cookie stares at TATA before we suddenly make eye contact. It quickly gives me a very unintimidating glare and does a "hmph!" as I did earlier.

"I don't," Shooky replies, and I stand there just staring at it.

Wow, petty much? Whatever, time to move on to the next creature. My eyes dart to my right and I see none other than the blue koala, who seems to be very stiff. I stand in front of it and crouch down.

However, as I do so, it flinches in surprise and I hear a loud plop!

Um? All the creatures turn and stare at the koala, and so do I. Like earlier, its ears are on the ground. But, in addition, its tiny body is shaky - like its afraid of me.

Me?

But what did I do- oh shit!

My self-defense earlier, where I held the creature by the throat and threatened to hit it with a pan. When I think of it, I didn't even apologize yet.

My eyes dart down at the koala, who is turning away from me and is shaking even more now. Poor thing. . .

Tata turns to look at me and is about to introduce us to one another, but I shake my head. First of all, an apology would be good.

"Hey. . ." I start, feeling awkward. "I know that what I did earlier must have seriously scared you." The koala shows no signs of looking at me or stopping its shaking. "But I only did it because I was faced with a really unfamiliar situation." This isn't going well so far, my "apology" doesn't even sound like one yet.

"Er, so I decided that I needed to be rash. . and attack this 'unfamiliar situation'." I swallow my saliva and take another deep breath before continuing. "I apologize for hurting and probably or almost traumatizing you." All is silent and I'm pretty sure you could hear a pin drop.

The alpaca from earlier looks at the koala, worried.

"Are you ok, Koya?" It asks. Koya, huh? So that's its name. The blue alien makes no sign of replying, but suddenly, it turns to me.

We stare at each other, or more like I seem to stare its eyelids. Trying to get out of this highly uncomfortable situation, I cough into my fist and awkwardly smile.

"I hope we can get along, Koya."  My feet move to the right once again and a wave of relief goes over me. Honestly, I don't want to be in any bad terms with these creatures, with the exception of Shooky, of course.

The next member of the aliens is a...puppy with a yellow hoodie. There are ears on top of it, and they're painted black. However, the one thing that stood out to me the most was its expression. With two beady dots for eyes, its tongue was sticking out and gave off an overall derpy first impression. Pretty cute!

"Hi," I greeted it, and it immediately gave me a small wave. TATA suddenly slid over and smiled at both of us.

"This is Chimmy! He's a kind person and a great friend!" The octopus says, wrapping its long arm around his friend. I see that both of them are really close.

The dog-like alien held out his "paw" to me once TATA released him. I stare at it before taking it and shaking it.

"Nice to meet you, Chimmy!" I say, smiling at how soft his hand is. Wow, what are these creatures, really?

Chimmy smiles at me back and responds with a cute, squeaky noise. Standing up, I straighten out my shirt and look at the very last creature to greet. Does it really count as one though? The robot with X and O for its eyes stares at me, seemingly interested in me?

I walk over to it and we hold eye contact for a few seconds. This thing somehow fit in my closet due to its "size-changing" abilities. I look all over the alien and find myself almost like a kid again. This is cool!

Suddenly, TATA pops up behind the robot and I visibly flinch.

"Shi- I mean, holy crap! When did you get there?" My heart beats loudly and I place my hand over my chest, feeling how fast it's going.

"Teehee, just now!" The octopus replies, giving me a friendly smile. I return a small grin. "Anyways, do you like VAN?" TATA asks, looking at me.

"This thing is named VAN?" I ask in return, looking it in the eye once again.

"Yup! You see, VAN is actually my creation!" TATA says, wrapping its arms around the robot-like he did with Chimmy earlier.

My eyes slightly widen and I feel a bit giddy. These aliens made a robot, an ai? Holy shit, all those theories about aliens being smart are right!

"Whoa, that's really cool!" Taking another look at VAN, I now see some tiny screws around the parts of its body. Wow, this does look like something mankind could make in, I don't know, five years? My eyes dart over and I see the rest of the aliens have made their way over, and are examining my reaction.

TATA grins brightly and opens his mouth.

"VAN, show Y/n what you can do!" The octopus says like it wants to show off a toy. I look expectedly at the robot, smiling slightly and waiting for a cool trick to appear. However, its X and O eyes suddenly glow with the color white, and it stares directly at me.

"Hello, Y/n. I am VAN, a robot created by TATA." I find myself fixated to its voice, feminine but obviously monotone. "With the addition of 1690 other abilities I can do, I am able to learn any language through reading and hearing." It pauses. "In addition, I can fly and possess powers most do not have."

VAN finishes its little introduction, and I look at the aliens who are all watching me, even the petty cookie.

"Cool, right? VAN is also super strong and can take down any enemy!" Cooky suddenly says, lifting its hands in the air.

My mouth slightly opens in shock. This robot is like a perfect assistant. "How did you guys even come up with an AI like this? Wow, when compared to our technology, we're way behind in the game." I say, grinning.

The next one who speaks is the alpaca, RJ.

"TATA and VAN have been friends for longer than we are with him!" It tells me, and I nod in reply.

"Oh really? Actually, how old are you guys?" My eyes examine each of them, and since they're not human, they could easily be older than I am.

The creatures make eye contact with each other and shift uncomfortably.

"Um, each of us doesn't really know our ages," Mang says, shyly fiddling with its hands. They don't know how old they are? Then that must mean they're so old that they've lost count.

"But we remember being babies once!" Chimmy speaks up, its tongue sticking out like always.

I give Chimmy a confused look and push back a bit of my hair. "Aliens can be babies at some point? Holy shit, you guys are more similar to me than I thought." The creatures take in what I just said and some smile.

"Oh yeah! You're a human, Y/n." TATA shouts, scratching its head.

I'm not sure whether to think that was offensive or not, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

"Yep, I am. I don't carry any weird abilities as you guys do." The aliens share a giggle and I even smile with them. It's sure weird how these guys went from aliens who crashed into my backyard to acquaintances in just a few hours.
