I look over at Jordan, he's sound asleep with his book on his chest. I stand up and walk over to the bed. I take the book off his chest, I check the page number and close it, setting it down on the nightstand. He stirs slightly. I pull the covers up to his chest and stroke his cheek. I blow out the candle next to the bed and walk back over to the table. It's about midnight now, I can finish before sunrise. I begin working on the iron case.

I snap the last EnderPod together and dust it off. I press the power button. It displays the time, three in the morning. I turn it off and look over at Jordan. His shoulders quiver slightly. I frown. I dim the lantern. I stand up and walk over to the bed, crawling in. He stirs and his eyes open slightly. "What are you doing up?" He asks. I pull the covers up to my shoulders. "I just finished with my idea. It took a while, but I think it was worth it." I say. He pulls me close to him. "I'm cold." He says. I nod. "I could see you shivering from across the room." I say. He wraps his arms around my waist and puts his head in the crook of my neck. I run my fingers through his hair. "That's better..." He trails off. His body goes limp, and his soft breathing is the only sound.

I wake the next morning to Jordan stirring. He freezes, and his muscles tense. He jumps back and stares at me. "I-I'm so sorry, Ianite. I don't know what has gotten into me." He says. I put a hand on his arm. "Remember what I said last night?" I ask. He scowls. "I wouldn't exactly sleep in the same bed as my friends, Ianite." He snaps. He bites his lip and squeezes his eyes shut. He mouthed back. I smirk. "Yeah, but you did." I say. He gets out of bed and paces the room. I get up and walk over to the table. I pick up one of the EnderPods and hand him one. He stares at it. "What is it?" He asks, holding it in front of his face. "It's an EnderPod." I say. He looks at me. "A what?" He asks. I grab it from him and turn it on. He stares at it. "It's a communication device." I say. I pick up mine and message his. There's a ding, and his screen lights up. He unlocks it, and reads the message. "I'm so confused." He says. I grin. "I used the supplies you gave me to make a communicatory system." I say. He stares at me. "Impressive." He says. I smile. "And you can charge it with solar rays for five minutes and it'll have power for a week." I say. He hums. "That's really cool." He says. I nod. I slip mine into the pocket of my jeans, and grab the rest of them. "They're all preprogrammed, so each of our little group can have one. Apart from Tom." I say. He nods. I hand half of the remaining ones to him and he slips his into his pocket. "We'll hand them to the rest and they can contact us whenever needed." I say. He nods. I grab my weapons and equip them. We walk out the door and to The Priest's house. Jordan hands him his and I explain how they work. The Priest nods. "Excellent idea!" He says. He thanks us and we head to Tucker and Sonja's house. Jordan knocks on their door. A brown haired girl answers the door. "Hi!" She says. "Hello, Sonja." He says. She looks at me and smiles. "I'm Iris." I say, holding out my hand. She shakes it. "Nice to meet you." She says. She looks between us. "What do you need?" She asks. Jordan takes her EnderPod out of my hand and holds it up. "Can we come in?" He asks. She nods and opens the door wider, stepping aside. "Whatcha got there?" She asks. Jordan hands it to her. "We need Tucker here. He needs to be a part of the tutorial." He says. She turns around. "Tucker! Get your lazy ass down here!" She shouts. Jordan chuckles. Tucker walks down the stairs. He has brown hair, and hazel eyes. Both of them are fairly slender. Tucker looks at me. "This is Iris, she's new to the land of Mianite." Jordan says. I hold out my hand. He shakes it. "Tucker." He says. "Nice to meet you, Tucker." I say. He lets go and turns to Sonja. "Why did you wake me up?" He asks her. She points to us. "They have something that you needed to be here for." She says. I pass Tucker his and he stares at it. "It's an EnderPod." I say. He looks at me. "What does it do?" He asks. I show both of them how they work. Tucker looks really stoked. "That's so cool!" He says. I laugh. "And for added security, if you put a drop of blood on the Ender Pearl on the back, it will be bound to you, meaning, if say Tom came and tried to take it, once away from you by about twenty feet, it will teleport back. And the range is adjustable in the settings, if you wanted to change them." I say. He grins. "So cool!" He squeaks. I smile. Jordan takes his out of his pocket. "I figured The Priest would figure it out by himself." I say. He nods. He takes his dagger and pricks his finger. He drips it into the pearl and it glows slightly. Tucker ooos. I have a feeling I might like this guy. Jordan hands it to me. I open the door and run outside with it. It disappears out of my hand. I run back inside with my hands up, showing its gone. It sits on the floor by Jordan's feet. He bends down and picks it up. Tucker bounces with excitement. Sonja stands next to him, looking almost as excited as Tucker. "You can change where it teleports to as well. That's also in the settings." I say. I pull mine out of my pocket. I've already bound it to me. "I reinforced it with obsidian, so it's completely indestructible." I say. I toss mine at the floor. It simply bounces off and then sits there. I pick it back up. Jordan slides his back in his pocket. "And it's waterproof." I add. Sonja looks at me. "Where did you get these?" She asks. I look at Jordan then back at her. "I made them." I say. Her jaw drops. "Wow." She says. I tap the screen of mine. "Just last night, actually." I say. She looks at hers. "How long did it take?" She asks. I slip mine back in my pocket. "About five hours." I say. Tucker looks at me. "You spent five hours on these?" He asks. I nod. His bottom lip juts out. He walks up and hugs me, patting my back. "I'm sorry you had to work that long." He says, a tinge of humor in his voice. I laugh. "'Twas nothing my dear." I say. He laughs. He stands back. Jordan moves behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. His chin rests on my shoulder. There's a knock on the door, and Sonja walks to get it. "Is Jordan here? I need to talk to him." Tom's voice asks as the door opens. Jordan stiffens. Sonja looks back at us. Jordan's head shakes. "No, I believe he went over to The Priest's. I saw him walking that way about five minutes ago." She says. Tom thanks her and walks back down the path. Jordan pulls me close to him. "Why didn't you want to talk to Tom?" Tucker asks. He looks at me held against Jordan's chest. "What is it you're not telling us, Jordan?" He asks. Jordan looks at him. "I can't tell you. Not until we get her to a safe place." He says. Tucker looks at me. "Why? Is she your girlfriend?" He asks. Jordan's body quivers slightly. "Jordan, calm down." I softly. I turn to him and stroke his cheek. "If this turns out anything like my dreams, it won't end very well." He says. I wrap my arms around his waist and rub his back. He calms down slightly. "I'll take that as a yes...?" Tucker questions. "No. We're just friends." I say. "What's going on?" Sonja asks. I look up at Jordan. He shakes his head. I turn to Tucker and Sonja. "Iani-Iris, you're not safe." Jordan says. Tucker noticed Jordan's slip-up, and looks at me. "You're Ianite?!" He asks, bewildered. I nod. Sonja stares, wide eyed. Jordan's shaking increases. "Relax, Jordan." I say, softly. He looks at me. I hug him to my chest and stroke his hair. "Whatever happens, whatever Tom may bribe you with, even if Dianite himself comes here and threatens to kill you, you will not share this information with any one part of the Dianite's." I say. They nod. Jordan stands up straight and pulls me towards the door. "We'll see you later." He says. We walk down the path. Tom walks out of the tunnel that leads to The Priest's house and Jordan freezes. He yanks my arm and dives behind a bush. I trip and knock Jordan over. I land on his chest. He stares down at me. I move off him, blushing. He moves away and fiddles with his index finger. "You're not allowed to date your followers, are you?" He asks. I look at him. His cheeks turn a slight pink. "Just out of curiosity." He adds, nervously. I look down. "No, it's forbidden." I say. He looks at me. I look away. He sighs and looks up over the bush. "Tom's gone, we can make a break for it." He says. I stand. He grabs my hand and we run back to his house. Jerry's Tree casts a shadow over the water. We walk inside and back into his vault. I yawn, suddenly tired. Jordan looks back at me. "How late were you up last night?" He asks. I take my my sheath off and set it next to the wall. "Three. I had to finish them so that we could have them by today." I say. I take off my bow and quiver, setting them by my sword. He holds my shoulders. "Get some rest. Five hours of sleep is not enough." He says. I open my mouth to argue but he shushes me. He rubs my cheek with the back of his hand. "Rest." He says. I roll my eyes. "Fine." I say. He grins. I walk over and sit on the bed. I take my EnderPod out of my pocket and set it on the nightstand. I look at the book. "Oh, your page number was one forty three, if you were wondering." I say. He nods. "Thanks." He says. I get under the covers and fall asleep.
