Jordan's POV
I lie in the grass outside my house basking in the sunlight. I figure its probably time to do something productive, so I get up. I walk down my path towards Jerry's Tree, and pull out my EnderPod, a gift from Ianite, sent while she wasn't imprisoned. I check the time, three in the afternoon. I stuff it in my pocket and glance to the left. I stop. A large animal is lying in the grass near the cliff, thinking it's an injured cow, I walk back. I get about ten feet from it and realize it's not a cow, it's scaly exterior gleaming in the sunlight. It jumps to its feet, snarling at me. I back up and see a young girl behind it. She stirs and sits up. "Midnight!" She shouts as the dragon leaps at me. It knocks me to the ground and I try to push it off. "Midnight no!" She shouts, grappling at its shoulders. It looks back at her and she shakes her head. It gets off and stands in front of her. I get to my feet and move away. "I'm so sorry." She says. Midnight growls. "No." She says. She tries to move around him and he pushes her back. "Sit." She says. He does so reluctantly. She moves around him and stands in front of me. "Are you hurt?" She asks. I shake my head. She pulls her hood back and images of Ianite plague my thoughts. "Ianite?" I ask. She looks confused. "No. My name is Audrey." She says. She looks exactly like Ianite, apart from the darker hair and the strangely colored eyes. "You look familiar, do I know you?" She asks. I shrug. "I don't know. You looked familiar to me too, but for different reasons then yours, I presume." I say. She nods. "I've seen you somewhere though..." She says, thinking. "Oh! You were standing on that hill yesterday!" She says. I think back. "Why are you here? I thought you sailed off with those pirates." I say. She looks down. "I kind of ran off..." She says. I sigh. "Lets go. Your parents are probably looking for you." I say. She frowns. "They're not my parents." She says, sternly. I look at her. "My parents are gone. They abandoned me when I was just a baby, and Mianite took me in and asked Capsize and Red Beard to take care of me." She says. I stare at her. "Wait, Mianite took you in?" I ask. She nods. I look towards Dec's house. "We should get you back. Especially if Mianite himself wanted you with them." I say. She frowns. "But I don't want to leave Midnight. And Capsize would kill him, worried that he'd hurt me." She says. I run my hands down my face. "You can stay with me until we figure out what to do." I say. She throws her arms around my neck and I stumble backwards. "Thank you." She says. I wrap my arms around her waist.

Mianite's POV
"You're welcome." I smile and teleport to Declan. "She's fine where she is." I say. Declan jumps. "Apologies." I say. He looks at me and Captain Capsize frowns. "What do you mean 'she's fine where she is'?" Capsize snaps. "She could be killed out here. The sea is much safer." She says. I smile. "Her new pet will protect her just fine." I say. She raises an eyebrow. "'New pet'? What kind of new pet?" She asks. Declan sits in a chair to my left. "A dragon." I say. Her complexion pales. She gets up out of her chair. "Where is she?" She growls. I walk towards the door. "Safe." I say. She storms towards me and I teleport away.
