I Should Have Believed

Chapter 2: The Tour and the Impostor

sorry for not updating for so long! the pandemic really hit us hard! I feel like I need to run! anyway this is the tour chapter. sorry if this is a little boring. Please enjoy and tell me what you thought in the comments!)

The next day....

Today was the day I had to give the grand tour of the school. I woke up surprised to see that I was running late! I got up, got dressed, and bolted out the door without any breakfast in a record of 2 minutes.

When I got to school I saw the four boys talking to someone already, but it wasn't just any old person, it was my rival, Phoebe. It looked like she was pretending to be me. So i went up to them and I said

"Hi! Welcome to Stuyvesant High School! My name is Phoenix and I will be showing you around." in a calm voice.

They looked at me, then Phoebe, then back at me.

"So YOUR Phoenix?" Leo asked.

So I was right. She was pretending to be me.

I said " Yes, I am your guide. I see you have already met Phoebe."

they all looked at me like they didn't believe me.

Then Phoebe said: "lier! You're just trying to pretend to be me so I can show these handsome devils around."

then they looked at me again.

"But i have proof that I am your real guide." I said to all of them.

" show us your proof " she snapped at me.

" Take out your schedules." I said.

All four boys took out the schedules they had, including Phoebe.

"the true guide is going to have the same schedule as the new students." i said as i was taking out mine and showing them all.

They all confirmed that I was the true guide.

"It IS her!" Donnie said.

And with that, Phoebe ran off...

"We apologize for not believing you. We really thought she was the guide." Donnie said with true sorrow in his voice.

"It is alright. As you know I am your guide. Where would you like to go first?" I asked as I took the lead. But then all of our stomachs growled at the same time.

"I trust the cafeteria will be fitting?"

"Yes please!"

"I'm Starving!"

"I could eat."
"As long as the food isn't terrible." were all the remarks i heard from the boys.

"Good, because i haven't eaten in almost 9 hours!" we all laughed as we headed to the cafeteria, sat down and ate our hearts away. I asked them all if I could call them by the Nicknames that they were given. They all agreed and we had a good time. Toward the end of breakfast Leo spoke up.

"I think I speak for all of us. I say: thank you for saving us from Phoebe!"

"Amen to that brother!" remarked Raph.

That made me chuckle.

"It was nothing guys! She is my rival so i don't really care for her. But I do care for new friends!"

"Awesome! First friend of the year!" exclaimed Mikey.

Friend? I never met people that thought of me that way. People only wanted to be friends with me because of my wealth. But these guys were different. These guys wanted to be my real friends.

When it was time for our classes Mikey looked so bored and tired. I think we found our class clown.

The day went by smoothly with all of the boys behaving. But the day was over and I had to go home.

Just as I walked outside I felt a person grab my arm. I looked behind me and I saw Leo.

"Hey. Do you mind if i hang out with you for a while? I don't have curfew until 11:00. I think i live nearby as well." he asked me.

I thought about it carefully.

"Sure you can." I replied. "But where are your brothers? Wouldn't you rather be with them?" I remarked.

"We usually do our own things after school. Donnie goes home to invent, Mikey and Raph go to the skate park and I just hang around." he explained.

"Oh." I remarked.

And with that done we headed over to my house. He asked me a lot of questions on the way there, and I tried to answer them the best I could. When we went up to the door I explained:

"Oh one more thing, you will have to meet my mother as she works from home."

"Won't be a problem."

We went inside and were immediately greeted by mom.

"Honey, who is this?" she asked

"This is Leo. he is one of the new boys at school. I had to show him and his brothers around." i explained.

"Oh wonderful! would you two like a snack?"

"YES!" we said at the same time. We looked at each other and laughed. After we ate we went up to my room.

We sat down and I asked if he wanted to play games.

"heck yeah i do!" he exclaimed.

Giggling, I turned on my PlayStation 5. I was lucky to get one for my birthday. I showed him all the different games I had and we played until it was time for him to go home.

"Thank you for letting me come over Mrs. Blaze." said Leo.

"Anytime dear." mom assured him.

I watched as he walked down the sidewalk waving at me as I waved back.

He started coming over 3 times a week. And those were what made my week better. To be honest, I liked having him around, being near him made me feel safe. And yet, I never knew that I would have to meet his father in a matter of weeks
