Chapter 3: The Family

Leo had been coming for over a month now, and I enjoyed every minute of every day he came over. Then one day, out of nowhere he asked if I could stay the night.

"I don't know, I'll ask mom." I said.

"Alright" he said

I got out my phone and asked mom.

Flame = Me

Inferno = mom

Flame: hey mommy! Can I ask you something?

Inferno: of course!

Flame: is it OK if i spend the night with Leo and his family?

Inferno: that is alright. Just make sure you have everything.

Flame: i will. Love you mommy.

Inferno: i love you too!

"She said yeah."

"I already asked dad and he said that it was okay as long as your mom was fine with it." he said.

And that word... Dad... that was the word that triggered the awful memories. The memories that she kept locked away for a very long time...

FLASHBACK

I was only 7 when I was walking back home with dad with a bunch of groceries in my hands. Mom was working a minimum wage job at the time, so we lived close to williams. But all of a sudden, I felt myself being pushed off the ground followed by the screech of a car. I looked at where I once stood to see my father covered in blood behind a car. I crawled to him to wake him up.

"Daddy?"

No answer. I pushed him to wake him up but nothing worked. Then it hit me like a punch in the gut. He was gone, and there was nothing I could do about it. When the ambulance arrived they asked me to move out of the way. But i didn't want to. My papa was gone... taken from me. And with that I fell into depression.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Phoenix you okay?" Leo got my attention and snapped me out of it.

"Yeah." i replied

"Awesome."

The rest of the day went by smoothly but it seemed like it was dragging on. Mikey was being as annoying as ever, Donnie was talking about a prototype he was working on, Raph looked like he wanted to kill both Donnie and Mikey, and Leo was as Charming as ever. I think I can safely say I had fallen for him, and I fell hard and fast.

I just couldn't take my mind off of him. He was just so perfect.

When the bell rang I wished Mr. Aizowa a good evening and ran out the door. I had to get home to pack everything for tonight. When i got home i made a mental list of what i needed.
